Has an ostensibly major football program ever been cucked as hard as UW is right now?

Fans care that the organizations they patronize with their dollars and time care at least remotely as much as they themselves do with that organization's success. Part of that dictates the spokespeople of said organizations must at least do performative acts to communicate their deep empathy with their fans.YellowSnow said:

You know what that sound like to me? Caring more about Oregon losing than UW winning. I think this might be the OG definition of a Doog, but its before my time.
A REAL Doog cares more about Oregon losing out on something than UW winning. Fucking pathetic.
UW AD is not incapable of grasping this, they almost certainly do. So, the actions and words of the past two weeks can be taken as virtue signaling, if nothing else. And what those virtues, the measures by which the organization will be deemed a success or failure, they are signaling they most value are not the values of the fans on this board. They have estimated that caution, propriety, effeteness are the virtues most esteemed by their desired demographic. -

Some of the blame lies with the SEC, Big-12, etc who care so much that they decided that not playing football in the fall was worse than death. They’d rather have a season that looks like the dumpster behind the discount Chinese seafood market I bought lobsters at one time. A lot of blame for Larry and the Pac-12, they decided to be the Big Ten’s bitch and then waited until the pandemic got worse to realize they need that money as badly as the SEC does.
For Washington the blame is with the football program. AD, coaches, support staff, players. They needed to keep 7 OL, 4 DL, 1 QB and whoever else to field a team. I’ll give them credit for playing with fewer than 40 against Stanford. It was already too late at that point. They knew what they had to do and didn’t. Washington’s football budget isn’t at a disadvantage to SC’s or Oregon’s, they just fucked up. Inexperienced staff? Players who don’t care enough? No idea, probably all of those.
Be livid. Any sane person would. Even me. Shit, I’m mad at them - now Oregon’s asterisk labia trophy has an extra asterisk because of them.
I went back and counted through the participation report. It was a grand total of 46 total players used against Stanford if you include walk ons and specialists. Maybe they decided to use 17 fewer players for other reasons. I’m not too familiar with Washington’s roster, feel free to check my work: https://gohuskies.com/sports/football/stats/2020/stanford/boxscore/18642
If half the roster would have been back that wouldn’t have helped if there weren’t enough OL. -
At least 0-12 was earned on the field. This is worse and this abortion of a season is worse. If you didn't give a shit about competing for anything then why did you bother playing any games?
Next year I hope we really do send delegations to forfeit our games. It would be more manly than this. -

First very forunate on their part to be 1 maybe 2 guys above the 53 scholarship players limit.
2nd, if this rips thru their program like everyone else's hard to see how they would have enough players to play in two weeks as it's only goint to get worse before it gets better.
3rd. Because it's them it won't, the Rose will cave to public pressure relinquish the CFP to Jerry's world, and as a get back the Rose Bowl will be played Saturday Jan 2nd where Oregon will beat either Northwestern or Indiana won't matter who.
JImmy PC'ing Oregon to play and win the Pac-12 CCG and then seeing Keith Taylor tweeting thumbs up for repping the North leaves a real crappy taste in my mouth.
We are playing the Nice Guy Pete way, meanwhile their AD, current, former, and even incoming recruit takes shots at us or flashes the upside down W every chance they get.
Until we start caring about beating them the way they care about beating us (they don't call it Hate Washington week for nothing) we are going to be the beta to the Alpha as it has been for the last 25 years. Phil Knight is going to leave hundreds of millions if not a Billion to the Oregon AD when he passes away, probably along with Nike stock as well, which has done nothing but go up like a rocket ship for a quarter century. Having the financial tools to stay on top of UW is not a problem for them at all going forward.

Hey @YellowSnow I generally respect you but you are being a pansy about this situation.
The health organization recommendation was to lower the quarantine time to 7 days and UW decided to stay at 14. You guys think Ohio state is going to keep guys out for 21 days if it affects their playoffs? Nah it'll get changed -

Do any of your think a school that predicted 2 million deaths is going to "push back" on medical advice? Push for a seven day quarantine instead of fourteen? C'mon man! This program is done for the foreseeable future. Jimmy has tripped over every hurdle that has been laid out for him after securing the 2019 recruiting class.
Retain dead weight coaches? Check.
Hire a retread failed OC? Check.
Sign an underwhelming 2020 recruiting class in a year that the state of Washington had one of its deepest and high end talent pools in recent memory? Check.
Fail to contain/maintain a roster during a pandemic while Smith, Chip, Helton, Mario, Dorrel and Shaw succeed? Check.
Put up zero opposition to not playing in the CCG. Then root for and then applaud your greatest rival after winning the game? Check.
Bag out of a bowl game and a chance to practice, play and refine your craft heading into what we all hope is a normal year next year? Check.
The rot of mediocrity and lowered expectations runs so deep in this AD that its okay to be second or third or fourth as long as the budget balances. I don't know what Jimmy will ultimately be as a head coach. He might be pretty good. I am pretty sure that he isn't elite or brilliant enough to overcome the decision makers or the politically correct majority of fans that truly define what success for this program looks like. '16-'18 gave me a ray of hope that UW could be a power player again but when Pete and JC were at the precipice of greatness and all that it entailed financially and morally they stepped it back and took the high road. Jen makes the books balance. She's actually pretty good at it. She'll be at UW, hiring and retaining shitty coaches and bleeding purple as long as she wants to. It's over.

On the cancelling side of things... he is a young players coach who is black and has a close relationship with his predominately minority team... Did people forget how much Tyrone Willingham was defended even in the midst of 0-12 and everyone (including the team) hated him?
Lake is near untouchable. Especially in a cucked university like UW and an athletic department run by a rich, privileged, white straight woman. -
Fine, maybe they used fewer than 40 scholarship position players for reasons other than availability. Perhaps Jimmy thought it would be a fun challenge to not use some of his better players, or to tire his guys out. Maybe Sawyer Racanelli impressed them so much in his first action of the season during the second half of the Arizona game that they decided to not play him against Utah to save him for Stanford.FremontTroll said:

I’ve explained my stance on the season: they should have either started on time or not at all. That’s not what I’m discussing here.
What rules should I be blaming? I’m missing which rules and why. What was Washington football supposed to push back against? Local health authorities? In the end they have mostly themselves to blame. The coaches and admin didn’t manage the team appropriately.
It’s not a lack of pushing back or caring, it was poor management and execution of an extraordinary situation. The end. -

Seriously anything would have been better than casually stepping aside, offering Oregon your spot and declaring them the conference champions if they win."
We chose the path of least resistance. Like always. It's who we are.
You know what that sound like to me? Caring more about Oregon losing than UW winning. I think this might be the OG definition of a Doog, but its before my time.
A REAL Doog cares more about Oregon losing out on something than UW winning. Fucking pathetic. -

Someone’s gotta push back on this bull shit. I’ve seen more OG REAL dooging in the past week than my entire 4 years here.backthepack said:
I love you.YellowSnow said:
Wow. That would have been so satisfying to play DL and walk ons at OL just to keep Oregon out of the championship game.dnc said:
As I said to Teq in another thread.YellowSnow said:
Again, where is the proof that we laid down and had a viable path towards playing in the title game ? Feels to me like we’re picking the wrong fucking hill to die on here.dnc said:
No we're flipping out that we laid down and let Oregon win the conference championship.YellowSnow said:
So it’s a joke we won the north and now we’re flipping out about 3-2 OR beating USC? Come on, Bud.dnc said:
Hi there.YellowSnow said:So we’re ok with Covid ball allowing us to win the North w/o beating Oregon the week prior. But now we are all salty in the vagzeen because Jenn “gave away” the title to Oregon because Covid ball. JFC we? Are a pathetic fan base. Man the fuck up and beat Oregon on the field where it matters.
We? openly mocked the hell out of the north title. No one was "okay" with it. The whole thing was a joke.
But joke or not you don't hand that opportunity to your biggest rival. Play with 11 kids, play with all walk ons if you have to. Who gives a fuck if you get ass blasted? 3-2 North Champions who gutted out a game majorly shorthanded beats the hell out of 3-1 opting out of a bowel and watching your rival win the conference.
"Convince the conference to push the game back to Sunday so you could get your guys in there. Convince the county to make an exception on contact tracing. Go scorched earth publicly against both if they aren't willing to help until they are willing to reconsider.
