Republicans, generally arent willing to help fix rising healthcare costs except for cutting Medicare for current recipients. Influence from Big oil and Coal lobbyists discourage alternative energy sources, including Nukes. Democrats argue government should protect long term welfare recipients. -

Cutting national defense makes sense. Aircraft carriers and fancy planes cost too much. We hardly spend on defending cyber terrorism, the real threat going forward.
