Game of Thrones season 8 mega thread

The Targaryans practiced incest and it led to their losing their throne and nearly dying out, the Lannister incest led to the ruin of the Baratheon dynasty and a massive civil war, and we'll probably find out that Craster's incest and the sacrifice of his male children led to the rise of the White Walkers and the War Between the Living and the Dead. Which doesn't bode well for Jon and Dany's upcoming marriage, does it?
DOES IT?

I wouldn't know. Black people don't do consensual incest. That's white people shit. But the GOT points you raised sound spot on to me.

All I am saying is incest would be okay if Dany was your sister.Gladstone said:IMO incest ruins everything. @StrongArmCobra true?

You ancient motherfucker -
Who is everyone’s prediction for who ends on the Throne at the end?
Realistic choice: Sansa - Dany and Jon will die tragic heroic deaths leaving the throne to Sansa.
Wishful thinking: The Night King -
King Samwell

A lot of people with bad history meeting up, to balance out the ones with good history.
Arya and The Hound. He sees her as an equal now. Sansa and Tyrion, they are pretty much the same politically. Sam and Dany just realized they have history. I think Jorah will be the one to smooth things over. Jaime and Bran. Not really Bran though, so he probably says the past is in the past. The Greyjoys. Yara in the opposite situation where Theon goes out of his way to save her. She knocks him down and holds out her hand to show him they need to trust each other.
Jon thought about taking Dany into the love cave, and it reminds him of what Ygrette said to him while she was dying. Euron also reminded Cersei about Jaime leaving, she is very bitter about that. Now she's thinking she can tell everyone it's Euron's, so they get married and when she gets tired of him, she can do to him what she did to her last husband.
I don’t think the show has the stones to go with the Mad Queen theory, but that’d be amazing. At least they’re acknowledging that she isn’t this infallible liberator. -
The politics and backstabbing and mistrust are a hallmark of GoT, and part of what makes the series so amazing.
But it feels completely out of place given the current predicament. No one in the North should really care about who's king or queen, who they don't trust, etc. when the army of the dead is about to attack with a fucking ice dragon -
Well that did not go as planned!Edwin_Bambino said:I hope Bran gets killed in the first minute of the first episode

I see Cersei is still rocking the Vulcan pixie cut.
Agree with you @Gladstone, it would be a master stroke on the show runners part if they went with the whole Mad Queen angle with Dany, but they won’t. They’ve been dropping hints like anvils in a Looney Tunes cartoon that she’s going to get knocked up by having Dany insist to anyone that will listen that she’s barren. A Song of Ice and Fire baby. Yawn.
I want to see what happens with Tyrion. He used to be such an intergral part of the story and now all he does is look sullen and poke fun at Varys for being a eunuch.
Glad Lady Mormont called Jon on his shit. Yes, an army of the dead is coming, but you could’ve done something besides given your kingdom away wholesale to Targaryen Barbie. I hope they make Sansa Queen of the North, and Tyrion, Varys, and Davos are her Privy Council. -

The mad queen angle is very much in play, if presented with the facts she should step aside and let Jon run the show, especially considering the main issue in the North outside of the white walkers is a foreigner running the show.
Something tells me she'll go crazy and not want to give up her title -
Yea they are frankly all pretty nonchalant about the Army of the Dead. Like wouldn’t you put scouts on the Army as soon as it broke through the wall to know where it is at all times and know when it will attack.NEsnake12 said:The politics and backstabbing and mistrust are a hallmark of GoT, and part of what makes the series so amazing.

Guess not and that’s why they let the little Umber lordling cruise back to his house just to become a part of a macabre arts and crafts display.
Dany and Jon just fucking in random ice waterfalls when the Ice King could pop up at any time was a bold move as well.
Enough being picky, it was a good builder episode even though a lot of it felt like an awkward 10 year highschool reunion. -
THIS! Jon gets it. Everyone is about to die and if they don’t Cersei is planning on 3rd partying the 2nd to last fight.NEsnake12 said:No one in the North should really care about who's king or queen, who they don't trust, etc. when the army of the dead is about to attack with a fucking ice dragon

Also Bran: “WE NEED TO TELL JON THE TRUTH (and thus fuel the drama of who should actually be king)” -
i'm not seeing it brought up anywhere but can we talk about how stupid it was for cersei to ask bronn to murder his BFFs tyrion/jaime?
wat
there have been countless scenes of him bonding with tyrion and tyrion telling him 'people will bribe you to kill me, but always remember, i'll beat their price'
is this just a lame excuse to get bronn up north with his boys? am i missing something? literally hire anyone but bronn to assassinate those two guys... -
El Oh El at how lazy the story and dialogue has become.
-
I liked that they had to have Clyburn tell Bronn instead of Cersei, since Lena Headey and Jerome Flynn hate each other in real life and won't work togetherGladstone said:i'm not seeing it brought up anywhere but can we talk about how stupid it was for cersei to ask bronn to murder his BFFs tyrion/jaime?

In the episode's defense, the Sam scenes were fantastic. Both learning about his bro + pops death and later the R+L=J scene with Jon in the crypts. Great character. Great actor.

I pretty much said this in the other thread DJ started. It has fallen off greatly the last season and a half. Still hopeful for this season. They really need to do something most aren't expecting, like the Night King wins, or Cersei wins in the end. I mean I hate the bitch, but I really don't want a Jon and Dany have a cousin marriage and live happily ever after as co-rulers of the realm with Tyrion as the Hand and they make little retarded inbred babies while Sansa pouts in the north.Doogles said:

I'd settle for a Dany and Jon have it out after he accepts his true lineage and he kills her after a good fuck. I'd also settle for Cersei wins after the northern armies are trashed beating the Night King, but then Tyrion slits her throat and claims the throne. In fact, if the Night King can't win, the alcoholic dwarf whore addict killing his own evil sister to finally rule the world is probably my top choice.
WAIT A MINUTE! How about Dany and Jon are killed fighting the NK, and Cersei comes up north to finish them off but Lyanna Mormont rises up and fucks everything up and siezes the throne. I love that little bitch. -
I need some high profile deaths next episode like I need Savell to commit to UW
