So many great character moments. Jaime knighting Brienne was way more emotional and satisfying than I would have imagined. Actually any scene with Jaime was gold. Jon should have waited until after the battle to tell Dany (if one of them dies, who cares about the heir?). I also loved Pod’s song.
I get a really Helm’s Deep vibe at Winterfell. In darkness. Aura of absolute despair. Arming children. Massively, horrifyingly outnumbered against an enemy that never parley and wants you extinct. Very good episode.

So it begins.
The big gut punch of the episode for me was when Davos was working the soup kitchen and the little girl asked him where she should go (hide in the crypts or fight). He gently replies, “where do you want to go?” Even in a fictional universe, the thought of kids having to fight in a war breaks my heart.
I’m pretty confident Greyworm and Jorah are not long for this world.

I will cry if Davos dies. He’s one of my favorites.
The episode felt like a giant goodbye to lots of characters. Which do you think will die? Here are my random guesses.
Theon: 95% chance of dying. Perfect conclusion to die defending the people and Castle he betrayed. Jorah: 80%. Hope he does Sam’s sword proud before he falls. Pod: 66%. Him or Brienne. Sansa: 10%. Unfinished political stuff. Danaerys: 40%. Would be a shock in a show famous for them. Tyrion: 55%. He’s not staying in the Crypts. Heroic death? Tormund: 60%. Hope not. Davos: 70% At last he proves himself a fighter but dies? Brienne of Tarth: 33%. Her or Pod. Hope not because I want her with Jaime badly lol. Sam: 70%, maybe defending Gilly? Jon: 40%. See Danaerys. Jaime: 70%. Full redemption. The Hound: 85% Wouldn’t surprise. Arya: 50% Someone big will die for sure. Gilly: 15% Fate interchangeable with little Sam Little Sam: 15% Beric Dondarrion: 95%. Goes out gloriously with his flaming sword. Gendry: 50%. Either him and Arya both love or die. Lord Royce (older guy who commands Knights of the Vale and bodyguards Sansa): 80%, hero of Battle of Bastards likely dies. Lady Mormont: 0%. https://i.imgur.com/eBCE5RX.gif?noredirect Greyworm: 60% I guess? Missandei: 30%.

The crypts aren't safe, they said it so much I made a drinking game out of it. The dead are definitely rising at Winterfell and that little girl is actually going to attempt to defend people. Cook it.

What if you can't raise the Starks like you would other humans? Remember Benjen Stark? What if the walkers they raise are actually pro-Winterfell?
There's no way Dani doesn't friendly fire Jon on purpose after they somehow beat the white walkers.
Honorable to a fault, should have kept the secret until after the battle. He never learns giving away unnecessary information is a recipe for death in this world.
I thought it was funny that people actually thought there would be a more hostile confrontation between Bran and Jaime. People realize that Bran is like a completely different entity now than the kid who was pushed out the window.
Side note I think it’s cool how Jaime started the series with the trademark gold Lannister hair and now he is a disheveled dirty blonde fighting for Winterfell. Jaime has had some of the best development out of any character in the show.
That was such an amazing character driven episode, felt like a hallmark back to the early seasons.
Absolutely love that I have no idea who will live and who will die after that, makes the anticipation for next week that much higher
Much better choice of directors this season. I don't think people appreciate the extent to which the better episodes correspond to a handful of directors, particularly Miguel Sapochnik (Hardhome, BotB, TWoW). His first episode this season is next week's, battle should be lights out.

lol
watch at your own risk
To which I replied, “try to keep your focus on Gendry!”
Mmmmmm...Gendry.
Rawwwrrrrrrr.
