Jones is a meh NFL CB. He wouldn’t be a starter without injuries to starters.

But the world needs ditch diggers too.

    24) Kyler Gordon, CB, Washington

“We have a new entry into our 2022 NFL Draft Big Board, and a new contender at the top of the cornerback class. Washington’s pass defense is the best in the nation this season, allowing just 142.9 yards per game. Furthermore, they’ve allowed 1 less passing touchdown this year than the Georgia defense earning national recognition.

Kyler Gordon is one of the big reasons why. At 6’0″ and 200 pounds, he has decent size at the position. He’s incredibly athletic, possesses impressive ball skills, and his physicality is apparent on every snap. While his teammate earned more recognition coming into the season, Gordon has the upside to enter the draft as a prospect with more upside.“

This will be Interesting when the nfl scouts turn on the film to see these lock down corners that had safeties over the top of them every play and very rarely were tested.
Well they mainly play 2 high shells in the NFL now too. So it's actually the positions they would be in at that level.

This is part of the reason why most all Pete era DBs get first round pub and then after film study get taken in the second/third round.
No. It's because they haven't been elite testers at the combine outside of Kevin King who really had a year of production. Like I said in a previous post almost all NFL teams use 2 high shells at pretty much all times now. It's not been because of our scheme.

They actually play situational football in the nfl based off of personnel and down and distance though. It’s fine as a base defense. Good cb’s are left on islands snd defenses do run blitzes way more often in the nfl.

People forget Jones was a beast prior to Achilles Tendon injury…. Wow this discussion again. Had Jones not been injured he would have been an All Pro

Do people here really think Giles Jackson is a damn good returner?

Yes, he had a lot of great returns the last few games. He was a good returner at Michigan. It’s not like he suddenly sucks just because he played under Jimmy for a season.

I’d like to see him at corner. Great athleticism and he was a hitter on special teams.

Is Ty Thompson really the savior at Oregon though? We'll see, and if you are bullish on him I respect that but he hasn't demonstrated anything yet.

    Just like Shough was
