3 of the top 4 teams play in conferences which started when they fucking should have- i.e., September. Those conferences also didn't set themselves up for failure whereby 1 dude getting the crud, can tank a game. Big-time programs do what needs to be done to play. Look at all the usual suspects. The top four ranked teams. They are serious about football and they will play the big games because they took the proper steps. Sure some kids might get the Rona but not enough to forfeit an important game or 2 in a row and especially a conference championship.
Serious football conferences enable their schools to be serious about football. Non serious ones don't. -
