The problem is that they hire too many people. The government is stuffed full of OVERPAID administrators who don't accomplish anything related to the supposed priority. Educating our children should be the priority. It isn't. It's hiring diversity administrators, contracting for CRT advocates, paying teachers they can't fire to spend the day in an office warehouse. Look at Fow Chee. Ideally, you would have some top science educated virologist making a million plus a year. But it would be a science position not a life time sinecure for a corrupt incompetent like Fow Chee. Someone who knew that the chicoms couldn't be trusted and that gain of function research was too dangerous. So, underpaid at the top level, way too many incompetent administrators accomplishing nothing.Sledog said:
Yes and they still can't hire qualified people. The pay is generally less than in the private sector often by a large amount. Kind of makes up for the benefits. Don't forget most bigger companies have pretty goo benefit packages. I paid a fair amount for my health care, dental etc. out of my check. Also my retirement was paid by me and also paid for by the city I was employed by not the state.RoadTrip said:
I'm sorry doogie if I offended you or anyone who worked hard for their pension. I don't believe they are good for our country as they are unsustainable. Why should the American taxpayers have to work well into their 70's to fund their own retirement as well as a government employee's retirement who only has to work 25 years? Do you have any idea how much money a private sector employee would have to put away into a retirement fund over 25 years to make $125,000 a year for the rest of their life and their spouses life for say 30 years of retirement? It's millions of dollars and the government employee now makes more money a year with gold plated benefits than the private sector employee before retirement. I'm not a fan of government and at least I'm still free to write that.doogie said:
How is a pension that a worker has contributed to with each paycheck over an entire career, “defrauding the American public”?RoadTrip said:
Brilliant but I already knew all of this and never believed one iota. If you didn't know all of this you were either ignorant and not very intelligent, you're an American hating Marxist, or, like many on this site, you have to love and support our? government because it's how you're making your living or you're actively defrauding the American public through your multi-million dollar government pension.huskyhooligan said:Excellent thread.

Quality math and science teachers should make more than an incompetent teacher who can't hardly read themselves trying to teach reading to first graders. Pretty basic stuff. -

Techers should make more but we have far too many admin positions for them. When i went to grade and High school they had a principal and a vice principal. No other supervisor positions in grade school. High school may have a couple vice principals. Now they have a supervisor for every three teachers. My grade school had 6-700 kids. high school 2,600. That is a shitload of supervisors now that don't teach at all......
Teachers union pushed for more spot and supervisors for promotional positions. Somewhere to advance to. Well how about we dump all that shit and pay them more? But again were talking about local and state taxpayers outside the district are not paying and the state has nothing to do with it other than the retirement system.
One year Demonrat governor of Kalifornia swiped 44 billion from my police pension fund to balance the state budget. When a republican governor was in next he paid it back and the demonrats were lived scream and gnashing of teeth ensued. Threats the usual bullshit. A ballot measure voted in by the voters now prevents a governor from stealing from the pension fund again. -

The World Health Organization called for a moratorium on Covid-19 booster shots to enable poorer countries to catch up in vaccination rates.
The halt on third doses should be in place until at least the end of September, Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said at a media briefing on Wednesday. That would help achieve the WHO’s goal to vaccinate at least 10% of the population in every country by that date, protecting health-care workers and vulnerable people.
“I understand the concern of all governments to protect their people from the delta variant, but we cannot and we should not accept countries that have already used most of the global supply of vaccines using even more of it while the world’s most vulnerable people remain unprotected,” Tedros said.
but WHY DON'T people take this seriously???? -
Substitute food and housing for the chicom crud. Impose a food moratorium so we can send food to the world's sh*t holes. No US construction until everyone in the world has a three bedroom ranch with running water and AC. Geezus. Why don't we have an moratorium on socialism and corruption and require secure property rights?RaceBannon said:https://newsmax.com/health/health-news/who-world-health-organization-covid-booster/2021/08/04/id/1031120/

I should say they could make more. Performance based pay scale would change the game in teaching. They'd have the money by dumping the massive supervisory load. I also say schools should be a choice. Let parents take their tax money to the school of their choice. Parents would have control back. Lefties could flock to a socialist paradise school while normal people get a good education.MikeDamone said:

Take a look at the American school system in the early 1960s. There was no federal education bureaucracy (Department of Education) which mandates negative education along with massive amounts of paperwork required by local school districts. Want to have a quiet classroom free from disruptive behavior? Nope, that is racist and so discipline is restricted. If you had a bad teacher, they could get fired. Hundreds of billions of dollars later it is now 2021 and the last priority of the current federal and state of Oregon mandated education is actually educating our children. The top priority is a pipeline of cash to administrators and bad teachers and indoctrination of the kids. Math is now racist. AP programs for the best and brightest are cancelled.Sledog said:

By contrast, Israelis who were vaccinated were 6.72 times more likely to get infected after the shot than after natural infection, with over 3,000 of the 5,193,499, or 0.0578%, of Israelis who were vaccinated getting infected in the latest wave.
According to a report by Channel 13, the disparity has confounded – and divided – Health Ministry experts, with some saying the data proves the higher level of immunity provided by natural infection versus vaccination, while others remained unconvinced.

And parents that supported discipline. If I got in trouble at school, the principal was the least of my problems. Today, even in the suburbs parents expect very little out of their kids. Participation ribbons and Capri Sun is the point of completive sports. PMS suburban house wives voted for a chicom supporting dementia patient because Trump was too competitive.Sledog said:

The largest decrease in hesitancy between January and May by education group was in those with a high school education or less. Hesitancy held constant in the most educated group (those with a Ph.D.); by May Ph.D.’s were the most hesitant group. While vaccine hesitancy decreased across virtually all racial groups, Blacks and Pacific Islanders had the largest decreases, joining Hispanics and Asians at having lower vaccine hesitancy than whites in May.
