Oh trust me, like any team that endures a 1-10 season... gripes about the D coordinator giving up 35 points a game against P5 opponents were all around. Cool you guys didn't take that stance... but he certainly wasn't a popular figure.
Part of the reason they gave up points was because the offense was so putrid

32.5, butt still, it was bad for sure.
I liked Snow a lot when RN hired him and thought he did a pretty good job in 2003 besides the Cal game (we always lose to Cal!) all things considered.
I couldn't even have told you he was the DC in 2004. I didn't care about anything but firing Gilby at that point.

I was there-- you're asking me to trust you?
I remember the Oregon game the defense played their balls off and finally wilted. There a lot of pick sixes that year and our offense was a 3& out machine.
Maybe this all turns out okay, but that doesn't make it less of an epically (sp?) bad hire. Just a miserable fail.
A fucking NFL "analyst!" Analyst in the NFL is code for "shitbag who isn't good enough to coach so we let him analyze film for guys who are good enough to coach."
It took us 3 weeks to land on this clown?
Husky Football: Always expect us to take longer than usual to end up at a retarded conclusion anyway!
A reminder this hire of highly sought after assistant RB coach by first time head coach whose network could use broadening was made immediately before something referred to as the "national coaches convention."
...
Had to make this hire ASAP, he had a lot of buzz around him. If they waited, he'd have been gone for sure.

Disagree. This is a fine LIPO hire. Not a slam dunk, not a red flag.
Ok. As the day has gone on I'm updating this to a LIPO yellow flag.
There isn’t another choice and hopefully it somehow works out but it’s worse than anyone expected. A position coach from the NFL would have been okay.
We were just clowning the QB coach of the 49ers. This is a dud hire that if past results are anything, will be a huge failure.
I don't disagree. Obviously upside means uncertainty (downside is the same uncertainty). There is uncertainty that he has grown in all the doogish ways people call out. The reason why I think this is LIPO is because there is a real (not a likely chance but a chance -insert dumb and dumber.gif) chance of this. He has the past experiences and context in the role to actually learn from those around him to have actually improved. Sure, odds are against this being the case and him being successful. Donovan would not have been in my top n-choices. I don't trust that Lake knows something we don't but I'm hoping he does. I am confident he thinks he knows something I don't.
Donovan was the OC/TE coach at PSU. Why not do the same here? Hire a young, hungry QB coach to grow that position group. Joe Brady is the QB coach at LSU right? He helps the LSU lifer OC scheme and call plays. We have a former DB coaching our? inexperienced QB's? I'm at a loss. Whatever Jimmy. You are obviously waaaay smarter than this grocer. Good luck.

Fuck this team. Anyone have napalm?

Could have hired Rick Nueheisal and got sweet guitar solos on the sideline at least.
