Listening to this pod, pods
Around 38:00 mark, they state that when a player #portals, the school cannot cut aid until the end of the current term. FWIW, UW's winter quarter started 1/6/2020.
-
Also some good pac-12 talk after this. The 'guy' they were talking about had to be a UW staffer, talking about explaining to kids in Houston where the state was. Also complaining about our lack of social media presence, lolGrundleStiltzkin said:Listening to this pod, pods

I know it doesn’t fall all on Cohen, but none of that shit has improved. The AD is just as poorly ran as it’s ever been. It’s often old and boring. When they try to go cutting edge, it comes off as trying to hard too hard and being Oregon lite.doogville said:can we talk about how shitty all the graphics are that come out of the UW football program? that schedule graphic is a disaster.
what is happening? take some of donovan's $ and hire a decent graphic designer.
here's our very own fan engagement employee... she of #ScoDucks and #WarEagle... she's made 3 tweets since November 2nd and look what one of them is...
what white pants do you think she's talking about?
hint she's more obsessed with Oregon's uniforms than engaging our fans. Great work in the AD as always. -

Lol at one spot behind Oregon. How do they come up with this shit? They won the PAC 12 and the Rose Bowl. We went 8-5 and played in the Vegas Bowl.GrundleStiltzkin said:Fucking metrics
I get that it is supposed to be a true measure of how good a team Oregon and UW were. I would even agree that Oregon is not much better than us. That’s why it was a close game when we played. Results are results tho. Fuck off saying an 8-5 UW team was anywhere close to as good as Oregon. -
Aren't the S&P+ rankings an average of the last five years? Our results both on the field and recruiting-wise probably averages out to be on the same level as Oregon in that period.RoadDawg55 said:

The issue is we're trending down and they're trending up, which isn't necessarily reflected in S&P+. -
The issue is that metrics have ZERO meaning between Washington & Oregon in 2019. They beat usº and won the conference and won the Rose Bowl. The only metric with any meaning is 12-2 vs 8-5.NorwegianHusky said:

Kwat said that didn’t matter and he was the guy with natural pass rushing skills. It would be disappointing if he left and it seems like we kind of blew it with him.NEsnake12 said:

No one was harder on Chest than me but weren't we killing him during Petersen's first two years for saying the metrics were positive for the future and then we had the magical season of 2016?FremontTroll said:

All this is fine until we lose to Oregon again -
Jimmy doing his best to infuse some fucking life into the program. -
I liked that Lake openly admitted we need the best players from the state. Pete would never hype up those guys like that in front of a crowd.
-
He also said that on the biggest recruiting weekend of the year.RoadDawg55 said:I liked that Lake openly admitted we need the best players from the state. Pete would never hype up those guys like that in front of a crowd.

This is so fucking infuriating. With any semblance of an offense, and there is another PAC championship and 2 big bowl wins.
I wish I could quit this fucking team. I know I never will and that is depressing. -

Turning recruiting up to 11. Since he’s taken over I’ve noticed the social media presence has gone up tenfold. Husky twitter, coach retweets, etc. Cato has been all over it, and I noticed when Glenn got the promotion all the coaches were retwatting it.
Even Gregory has been at it. -

Yup, and everyone on staff is just at it.
There has been a clear message sent by Lake to all coaches and staff that social media presence is a requirement going forward. They may not like it and a lot around here may say it’s Sark sizzle shit, but it’s clear it matters to the kids. Lake is trying to get some enthusiasm and momentum around the program with the huge in-state talent coming up.
This is all a new experience as this time of year was when Pete would take time off of recruiting while other teams were heating up. But with the spring game back on, the huge Junior day, and the interviews have shown Lake is hungry.
It will help in recruiting, and it’s been working for Oregon.
But it means nothing if they don’t win on the field. -
I hate twitter being "important."

It’s the easiest way to stay in constant contact with the guys you are recruiting. It’s a necessity.DoogCourics said:proof said:The Harris and Brown back and forth has been solid too.

It's a bizarre loophole in the contact limits, if our coaches are failing at Twitter they're recruiting from behind the 8 ball.RoadDawg55 said:
