Well here you go for everyone who wanted him fired or a change in direction.
We will see if you all were right or if you’ll all be wishing you still had him.

That said, things had pointed the way of a coach in waiting scenario with Lake turning down big time DC offers and not taking a smaller HC job, then the title bump, then calling plays, then Harris being brought in as a DB in waiting, then the salary bump.
It was 3 years of expecting Lake to go only to give more and more.
I just didn’t expect it to happen for another 3 years and Lake wouldn’t have the patience to wait it out.
lol, fuck me, I wouldnt have guessed that would actually happen even with the Wam leak... For the people that speak academic bureaucracy what does "Petersen will transition into a leadership advisory role for Husky Athletics." mean? Hopefully Lake is a better HC than a DC Hopefully Kwat is given control of the defense and Lake doesnt try to do DC/HC Hopefully this isnt a civil war or mass exodus because there are a few good coaches on staff Hopefully Lake spends a ton of money to get a good OC
I'm pro Jimmy Lake HC, I would be worried trying to bring someone outside in when the best thing we have going is the culture. Jimmy Lake at moderate salary + expensive OC. Basically the Cristobal model.
I can't think of a more conflicting sequence of events. Never before have I felt such a wild range of emotions. On one hand, this year was unacceptable and this confirms that there was something seriously off with Petersen. On the other hand, he instantly made the program relevant again and despite this year's set back, he still appeared to have all the pieces in place to continue building "something special". I was still on board for a 20 year tenure of Petersen. But I'm excited to see what Lake can do with the program. I'm also terrified to see what he does because this is a huge step-up in responsibilities that he may not be suited to handle. I'm not sure you can ever replicate the program-building that Petersen instituted. At the same time I'm not sure you could get any worse with in-game coaching decisions and a lack of killer instinct. This could be the move that takes us to the next level as almost all of today's hot-shot coaches (Dabo, Day, Riley, Orgeron, etc) seem to have the Jimmy Lake temperament. This could also end in unmitigated disaster as plenty of boisterous head coaches with little coordinating experience have failed spectacularly.
