Beat the portal rush and come to UW for the next coach. -
I will beat the drum that none of that should be preferred prior to Cohen getting fired. Everything she touches turns to shit.dnc said:

You have confidence that replacements, hired by Jen, can sell that?dnc said:

I don’t know that I have the confidence that Jen has pulled head out of ass and realizes what she needs to look for when hiring a HC… does that HC then know how to recruit and the importance of having coaches that can do both sides of their jobs.
It’s in plan site… can Jen see it. Will she do anything about it.
As my friend PGOS says, LIPO. -
UW is a great school.
If my son had a chance to go to school there for free, I’d be all for it.
I just wouldn’t expect the current staff to compete with Oregon for conference championships.
I mean if they can’t compete with Montana or a down Michigan program, what is supposed to make me think they’ll do better against anyone else in the P12?
Lemme put it this way.
If you’re a top 500 talent with good grades, what on earth would compel you to choose UW over Stanford or UCLA? Because, forget about recruiting against Oregon or Ohio St….that’s already been proven out over the last 2 years under Jimmy. -
No, he won’t. It was a hypothetical situation. I’m glad you and your son are all in. I don’t like what I see and it is troublesome. The development has been poor. The OL all returned and looks horrible.PapaBrailsford said:
Tell us about your son @RoadDawg55, is he going to be playing anywhere after HS?RoadDawg55 said:
Yeah, I would be strongly advising my son not to play for Huff and Lake.BleachedAnusDawg said:Yeah, not looking good. Turns out losing, and looking horrendous in the process, matters. If UW had started out 2 - 0 his recruitment would've been done. Instead it has literally been the worst case scenario. I think he's gone unless they hire this kid's dad or get him some big NIL money.
And, frankly, who could blame the kid? If it were my kid I'd be pushing him to leave the state right now, too.
As for my son, he's committed to UW. He shut down his recruiting. He's not talking to other coaching staffs...despite the fact that they are reaching out. We'll be at the game this weekend and we're looking forward to it. Go DAWGS!!! -
They look worse than horrible. It is like back to the days when we had Sark offensive lines, but worseRoadDawg55 said:

There will always be reasons to come to UW -
What does UW offer academically that Michigan doesn't? I guess they have a great nursing and pharmacist program in comparison. Most 4-5 star kids don't care. The few that do, you can sell the academic bullshit against Oregon, Wazzu, etc. But you aren't selling education against Michigan.Tequilla said:

This isn’t petermans team of kids who viewed the udub offer as something special. Lil jimmy needs to go the route of the ducks and air mail offers left and right and see what sticks.
He’s so arrogant that he still thinks a Udub offer means something.

And...? Like Dirty said, most kids could give two shits about this.whatshouldicareabout said:

So it begins,..fuck you steve Lorenz
Burn it down. -
Steve Lorenz:
I have put in a 247Sports Crystal Ball for Michigan for 2022 five-star offensive lineman Josh Conerly Jr. after digging on his recruitment throughout the weekend and into Wednesday.
The Rainier Beach (WA) prospect was on campus for the second time in three months over the weekend and by all accounts the Wolverines crushed the visit in every aspect. Michigan is battling Washington, USC, Texas and some others in this recruitment.
Conerly Jr. does not have a concrete timeline at this point in his recruitment. He is ranked 20th in the country on the 247Sports Composite in the 2022 cycle, good for third in the country at the offensive tackle position.
Two things to add:
- Was told by an excellent source that a pre-visit prediction would have been premature. Michigan felt like they were trending up a bit going in, but this visit pushed things into Crystal Ball level.
- Will be interesting to see who the primary competition is. Still Washington? USC after they hire a new coach? I wonder if UCLA may sneak in also. -
I have a feeling that Oregon is going to be in the mix.
-
He wants to play LT and Banks is in place….not going anywhere, and recruiting TX talent to Oregon.dOgmaster said:I have a feeling that Oregon is going to be in the mix.
I’d be very surprised if Conerly and UO developed at all, even with Washington’s downturn. -
I have seen enough of Huff at this point. He can recruit (one of 2 maybe 3 on staff) but development is not there.hardhat said:

I want to see Huff finish the year with a different OC. I think a lot of the OL struggles are attributable to Donovan. But I agree his seat should be hot.godawgst said:

Just needs more Tim to get his guys in?

And another…

His struggles are attributable to Lake. Before that, when the struggles weren't nearly so severe, they were attributable to Petersen's offense just plain sucking.dnc said:

Bottome line for me is that, while I think Huff has been at a big disadvantage his entire time at UW and it's worse than ever now, it's time for him to go too. Full house cleaning time. -
He’s also had five years and hasn’t had a single OL that was better in 2016. The 2016 OL might have been lacking depth and got punked by Alabama, but they were mauling everyone else.chuck said:

That said, he might be okay and he has worked for shitty offenses that started from the top down. In any case, he still needs to go. It’s a perfect time too. We have a bunch of highly recruited OL and a good coach should be able to make it a top tier OL. -
Strauser could not recruit, but he could fucking coach. Holly fuck, I am reminiscing about strauserRoadDawg55 said:

Future of Huff should be made by a new HC and new OC
