I'm hoping he reconsiders his commitment.FirePete said:I hope this kid is good

I have no problem with this kid. After the elite guys, I don’t give a shit about star rating. It’s all about evaluating the right guys and developing after the sure fire studs.
-
Agreed. Azeem, BBK, Littelton, Bierria. All 3 stars, right?RoadDawg55 said:I have no problem with this kid. After the elite guys, I don’t give a shit about star rating. It’s all about evaluating the right guys and developing after the sure fire studs.
Speed is the only thing that matters. The rest can usually be got or taught. -
This is tough for me to swallow, thinking of how many times I see Wellington and Ngata getting bulldozed out of the play by a guard who outweighs them by 90 lbs.MakaDawg said:

I think Littleton was a 2 star. I trust the coaches. They like this kid, he plays 5A TX football, film looks good, good athlete.MakaDawg said:

Ngata not being able to put on weight is a problem for sure, but he’s still a better option than Manu, who is a slow, fat fuck. Slow, fat fucks don’t change.

Not saying size isn’t important, but I think speed and instincts come first.
Wellington has very bad instincts and football IQ. The rest of them aren’t athletic enough to make up for their deficiencies. -
I am glad we did not redshirt WellingtonRoadDawg55 said:Not saying size isn’t important, but I think speed and instincts come first.

We’ll see next year. It depends on the redshirting freshman. He isn’t good, but we will want him back if those guys aren’t markedly better than Sirmon and Tafisi. Luckily, if they make any plays at all and aren’t completely useless, they will be better than Sirmon.FirePete said:

Yeah. He could still learn to be a college football player. Guys like Kevin King, BBK, and a few others were written off early tooFirePete said:

Talking with someone who knows way more football than me & most else hear, said basically that about Wellington. He was good enough athletically to play ok the last couple years when he had BBK or Bierria on the field to tell him what to do.BeerThirty said:

It's easy to see. He has all the athleticism to be a top tier linebacker. He was a 4 star RB for a reason. But holy shit can he not diagnose plays, and his tackling has been pedestrian at best. He's a massive disappointment.GrundleStiltzkin said:

But in the interest of fairness it's worth noting that Manu is in his own tier of bad. Cort Dennison athleticism with Wellington instincts.
I still can't wrap my head around over how destitute of a position group this is six years into a strong regime that has otherwise developed above average to elite units. Fuck, I'd kill just to have Fuimaono and Timu back there. -
Missing Beavers and Eifler big time. Kahlo too. FTGGreenRiverGatorz said:

I have a feeling, based on the pea soup I had for dinner last night, that this kid is going to be a steal and one of the studs of the class. BBK but bigger. Just a hunch
-
BBK was always nonsense because he was productive even as a true freshman. Then as a sophomore the defense really didn’t drop at all with Beavers and BBK getting more time.bananasnblondes said:

King was a great athlete who always tested near the top at the Husky Combines.
I don’t like Sirmon because he has no stand out skill. He has size but is soft, he’s slow, and I have seen nothing to suggest he has good instincts. Most guys that disappoint early but turn into players have something that stands out. Sirmon is out there doing absolutely nothing. He’s not a thumper, he’s not instinctual, and he’s nothing special as an athlete. -
Yep. Dennison was bad. He was still a lot better than Manu. He might have made plays 8 yards down the field, but he at least made tackles. Manu just gets washed up or shook outta his shoes.GreenRiverGatorz said:

Whatever. Your take on all this is a joke. Just admitt you are still bleeding from the ass about Banks and drop the hate for McDonald. The coaches, like it or not, took a shit this morning that forgot more about football then you or I will ever know. They like him. You hate him cause he isn't an inner city black kid. Glad you are here though.backthepack said:Kinda hard to play LBer when you can’t move laterally

It’s a racial thing? Lol jfc dude.
McDonald is not good and limited. Banks is good + positional flexibility. It won’t matter if Racanelli gets moved to ILB he’s a freak, he’s going to be so good. -
According to Washington, Alabama, tOSU, and Oklahoma he isn't that flexible. He can't play ILB which is what we wanted him for cause he can't move laterally. The coaches think McDonald can. But you don't think he is good so cool. We'll see. The fact that you are calling a kid with multiple D1 offers "not good" is hilarious. The fact that you've given up on him before he has even played a single down is retarded.backthepack said:It’s a racial thing? Lol jfc dude.

Cole didn’t even get a sniff from anyone of those others but us. His 2nd best offer is Baylor or Texas Tech...
-
Yeah, you're right he fucking sucks because Texas Tech and Baylor want him to play football for them. Kid should just give up and focus on the discus, maybe he can make the Olympics.backthepack said:Cole didn’t even get a sniff from anyone of those others but us.
