    Aren't like 75% of Dems for that retarded legislation anyway?

    The legislation on the surface looks great, especially for those that want clean energy. The problem is once the actual costs get out, how many middle class people are willing to pay additional taxes and higher energy costs? Don't tell me only the rich will pay, because the rich will find a way not to pay, that's why they are rich. This shit will have to get passed to the middle class, and there is no way in hell that they'll go for it.

    People vote on morals, likability, social concerns, but the most heavily valued driver of votes has and always will be money. Sure, the bluest of blue states will go for it even after these numbers are advertised. However, this will never get approval from swings states, and at least for another 10-15 years there are still enough swing states to matter.

    Middle class people in general are not going to want clean energy in exchange for a higher tax and energy cost burden. It has high approval now, because most don't think they'll pay for it. This is the main reason Bernie lost to Hillary in the primary. You can't be mainstream and support large tax increases. Bernie and AOC get a lot of press and viewership, but they only attract the loud minority of the party. Their policies like this sound great and hit at the moral heartstrings, but as more as more information comes out on it, people back off their pledge for it.

You ask people if they would support transitioning all of American energy needs to renewable and green friendly sources in the next 15 years and damn if you don't get a majority of people to say that they'd support it.

    Now ask them that exact same question and only ask them if they'd still support it if it meant that they'd be paying twice as much for their energy cost or that they'd have to have an electric car.
