Except that UCLA seems to have communicated that to him much better than we have. This isn’t the first kid who has appeared to be expected to just assume he knows why he hasn’t gotten a UW offer yet.Meek said:

“I was just at UCLA on Saturday and really like it there a lot. I went twice last year so I was familiar with the campus and football facilities. I like the culture there and what they’re building. I didn’t see Chip Kelly but I spent a lot of time with coach Pellum and I like him a lot. He talked about how they haven’t offered any players from my class yet because they have to wait until spring grades come out. He said at UCLA, they want every offer to be committable and you can’t offer someone until you know they’re fully cleared and I understood and respected that.” -

Of course, it is also possible that his mom or dad hired that guy in California to get his application to Stanford filled out. -
