They're a decent team. Lillard is on a roll like no other over the last 10 games. Most games they are down in the 4th quarter and Lillard saves their ass.

In the playoffs, other teams can scheme to hold him down and He historically isn't good in the playoffs anyway despite the one shot against Hou to send them home.

I still give them the same odds as I did before of doing anything in the playoffs.

Play off upsets are very rare because 4 out of 7 identifies the best team most of the time. Well over 81% of the time

You need a head case team like the old Sonics in the 90's to blow it to a lesser team. Atlanta and teams like that in the early rounds

The Cavs in in the Finals was a shocking as any Finals in years if not decades. The Pistons beating the Lakers 4-1 was a pretty big upset as well

I do see drama in the two conference finals this year at least

The Cavs in 2007? None of the recent years have been a surprise.

I was referring to winning the Finals. Beating the 73 win Warriors coming back from 3-1 was a surprise

I still remember that Pistons-Lakers finals. What was so surprising wasn't just that they won, but dominated the entire series. The Lakers won game 2 with some Kobe heroics. Other than that, the other 4 games were solid victories by the Pistons.

    125-108 Blazers.

D$me, 3J, and Durant all had a lot of hate in their lives.

I’m happy for you Hairball. Hair = Haie.

If the front office wasn’t so stupid and spent outrageous money on Turner, Crabbe, and Leonard you might be able to get the player that could get you over the top. The Blazers spent stupid money because they could.

If you had money, maybe you sign George or Cousins and win the off season natty.

At least with Crabbe there was enough potential to get rid of him. Myers is main guy left that is anchoring the cap at this point.

I'm starting to come around on Turner. Is he overpaid relative to his role? Fuck yes he is. But look at Portland's other skills guys: dame, cj, shabazz, all small scorers. You need a guy with his length that expends his energy on the defensive side of the ball. Durant went off last night which is expected, but I feel good about putting Turner on the other team's best player. He played phenomenal against Paul George last weekend. Don't love the contract, but I understand Olshey's thinking on that.

Some guys are starting to pan out which is elevating the team: Ed Davis was getting rebounds against 2-3 guys, including Draymond. His passing was outstanding. Aminu's 3 pt percentage is where you need it to be.

Yeah, I don't know what you do in the offseason. You hope someone notices the foundation that is there and wants to come up to dark ass Portland and settle on hipster brew pubs and a playoff run. GM Bro needs to earn his paycheck this summer or gtfo.

Turner isn’t a bad player at all. He couldn’t come close to that contract now though. That offseason was crazy.

Developing through the draft and adding difference makers is how a team gets great. That’s how all the dynasties did it.

Houston is somewhat of a threat this year, but Golden State has three home grown stars and Durant. Even if Houston wins this year (they won’t), Golden State is built to last.

The problem with the Blazers is that they can’t add George, Cousins, Anthony Davis, etc to pair with the backcourt.

Your #1 picks have little value because you’re a playoff team. Aminu, Nurcic, Turner, etc are useful players, but you need stars to win.
You have to get lucky as well. Draymond Green was a second round pick. Nobody thought he would be a great as he is.

The Blazers will still be stuck with Turner and Leonards contract going into next year. They will also lose Napier in the offseason as they won't be able to pay him. Also Nurk will be a RFA in the offseason as well, that will be offered $15MM per year by someone else. Doubt they will be able to afford him either without unloading Turners and/or Leonards contracts.

This winning streak is almost solely related to Damian Lillard's play in the 4th quarter, which is as good as you will find in recent years. CJ's as well. Their defense has been better this year as well. They also have not faced any of the good teams at full strength either during this streak. That's not their fault but it's a fact all the same.

The fact remains is that Portland will have to beat either Houston, Golden State, New Orleans, SanAntonio or Minnesota 4/7 games to get to the WCF. The odds of that are still about 20 %. And the odds of getting out of the 1st rd are now about 50/50. Getting out of the 1st round is a successful year for this group. Anything moar is big time overachieving.
