Someone pm'ed Ꮊ about life on the res. After grandpa died enisi (cherokee for grandma on dad's side) moved back on to the res. Wanted to be back with her people. It was in oklahomo, and Ꮺ lived in dallas at the time. Like early to late 80's. Ꮠ Ꭲ went up there nigada the time. Dad was half injun, making it in the middle class unegv (unega adj) man's world, but it was important to him that Ꭲ know gado dirt poor was nigada about, and learned some of my native language, etc....Ꭲ have to tell you, this was back before casino money and life was fucking tuff on the res back then.
Ꮓ jobs at nigada, rampant liquor and drug problems. Poor education systems. It was basically like inner cities only with reds instead of blacks. Rough. Ꮠ Ꭲ have Ꭰ serious appreciation for some of the disadvantages faced in poor ass communities in this country. At the same time, enisi used to always talk shit to the 20 something male injuns gago just laid about drunk nigada the time. Hilago iyu (hilayvi adv) they would be passed out on the streets she would kick them and cuss at them in injun. Kind of like how old gvhnage (gvhnagei adj) women used to get in gangbangers faces and be like "look here fuckhead, mlk didn't die for you to be such Ꭰ shithead."
she was nigada about personal responsibility and not making excuses. Something this country could use more of.
enisi was Ꭰ cool woman. She is buried on the res and Ꭲ Ꭺ to her grave every time tsunela within 3 states of oklahomo. Ꭲ sometimes wonder gado she would think hilago iyu (hilayvi adv) tsunela banging some whore out after just blasting three lines off her tits. Uyo ayelvdi enisi. Ꭲ loved blow.

Someone PM'ed me about life on the res. After Grandpa died Enisi (Cherokee for Grandma on Dad's side) moved back on to the res. Wanted to be back with her people. It was in Oklahomo, and we lived in Dallas at the time. Like early to late 80's. So I went up there all the time. Dad was half Injun, making it in the middle class white man's world, but it was important to him that I know what dirt poor was all about, and learned some of my native language, etc....I have to tell you, this was back before casino money and life was fucking TUFF on the res back then.
No jobs at all, rampant liquor and drug problems. Poor education systems. It was basically like inner cities only with reds instead of blacks. Rough. So I have a serious appreciation for some of the disadvantages faced in poor ass communities in this country. When they would be passed out on the streets she would kick them and cuss at them in Injun. Kind of like how old black women used to get in gangbangers faces and be like "look here fuckhead, MLK didn't die for you to be such a shithead."

Good stuff. I vote for @swaye as the lead in the next Bond movie.
I didn't vote for Trump as he scared the shit out of me but after the shitshow of the campaign that was 2016, I vowed to support whoever won. And as has been mentioned before, I warmed up to the idea that he didn't owe the special interests anything and could shake things up a bit. He came out guns blazing and tried to implement some campaign promises right outta the gate.
After some missteps his first month or so, I gave him a break as I knew the media hated him and would never pass on a potshot opportunity especially after watching them all cry into their lattes election night. But then it became clear that He was gonna be his own worst enemy with the constant twatting and his inability to keep his cool with the press.
He didn't figure out that He had to be a negotiator with Congress and not a dictator. Instead of living at Mar Lago, he should have been living on Capitol Hill his first 100 days and see who he could make deals with on both sides of the aisle. He wanted to tell Congress that their was a new sheriff in town instead of show them that there was. And with 2018 approaching, and his approval ratings down, Trump is on the clock as far as building any consensus to actually get anything done in the shit show Congress. As if his ratings don't go up they will all scurry like rats away from Trump to save their own worthless skin. It's already happening. The Republican party never even took the time to sketch some ideas as a replacement for Obamacare and every one just tried to wing it.
Our Federal government is broke in all 3 branches. But the death knell was Citizens United and no term limits being enacted. In order to keep your seat in Congress, you have to dial for dollars for the RNC and DNC 15-20 hours per week. It's said that when in session, the are all only really there on Wednesdays. So once you get there, the main job is to start fundraising for your next election. Basically sell all of your votes for the next re-election.
I'm afraid nothing short of either a coup will help make our federal government more effective again. Or a mass secession of states that makes the federal government irrelevant.
At this point I think that Trump really didn't believe that He was going to win, He just wanted to shake the establishment to the core. And for that reason I don't see him running in 2020 even if He is able to get some things done and has more widespread support. I don't think He's having much fun with it.

I agree with this. Neither side does shit because their funding comes from the extremes of each party.
My Nana and Pa had a hundred different versions of the same "a rolling stone gathers no moss" point, to wit, Get off your ass and life will be better than if you stay on it.
That statement would get me kicked out of lots of bars and parties in Seattle.
But I have to tell you, I spent every summer on the reservation with my Grandma because my Dad wanted me to know what the tribe was all about, and how TUFF some folks had it.
There is an amazing amount of agreement in this thread. Pretty cool what can be accomplished when you stop fighting on party lines and realize all these politicians are trying to fuck us over.
