It may have been the Athletic article that said Ford will not go where Bru McCoy goes. That pretty much rules out USC. Everything I see from him points more toward UW than UO, with the lone exception being early PT.

His recruitment feels like Irvin's last year, where I was nervously optimistic about our chances for 3 months. History tells me to not expect good things in these situations, but I think we are probably favorites to land him.

So I can't think of a WR of this level we've had under peterman. I don't think we have one currently on our roster either. If he has the playbook smarts, I could see PT next year. He is that good!
John Ross was the best player in the conference in 2016, Ford has a ways to go before he gets to that level.

He's much, much more refined coming in than Ross was though. But I'm hearing that adds nothing to his value.
I just mentioned PT, not the best player in the conference... is that you ballz?
"So I can't think of a WR of this level we've had under peterman."
Maybe I choose my words wrong. I can't think of a higher rated game changing, polished, and potentially ready to play from go, receiver that we've landed under peterman.

Ross did not come in at the level as a freshmen that ford will be at as a freshmen. He would not redshirt at udub.

If Oregon had a chance with Ford, he would have visited this weekend. He isn’t, so it’s either USC or UW.

What team do you like more between USC and UW? Is UW like your second team?

I'm leaning more to USC. It doesn't matter how much of a dumpster fire that school is at times, they almost always manage to get the Cali kids they want. Even with that I was leaning UW until USC hired Kliff. The air raid offense at a high profile school is a wr's wet dream. I think it's too much for Ford to pass up. USC will also have an experienced QB. He wasn't great this year, but he should improve. We really don't know who UW's QB will be next year.

but did show sign of shatting himself when he was under pressure or when it mattered. he was just wildly inconsistent because he was freshman

Everyone sucks here I guess but for a true freshman he wasn't horrible

Daniels was better, though he was playing in the 2018 Pac12 south which is even shittier than the SEC East of 2016.

I don't think JT sucks either and agree he is going to get better

Both need to get to 65% completion in today's game

    Hence "Eason sucked too".

Both were bad. I expect both to get better.

Georgia also had a guy named Chubb in the backfield that year. Might have heard of him, he was ok in college.

Ford has been quoted multiple times (chew on that) saying:

    - he loves the coaches and gives reasons (details)
    - he has lots of good friends on the team that tell him honest shit and he believes it
    - he can definitely see him playing at UW (within interviews that he keeps info very superficial for other schools except for UW - devils in the details)
    - he specifically touches upon Eason as "big arm and NFL bound" so he gives details about personnel and scheme. He does not do this for usc or Oregon IIRC.
    - blah blah blah...

Point is that you read between the lines you can plainly see that he's a SoCal kid looking for a reason, for justification, to leave and go out of state.

That's not easy for many reasons. Family and friends. Emotional attachment and history.

We can't have it both ways where we expect croots to easily leave home and come to UW and for Washington kids (like smalls currently and fozzy previously) to stay home and spurn out of state schools.

Lastly, I pointed out a long time ago that a tuitele interview was almost identical to a ford one. Superficial niceties to all schools and then all of a sudden unprovoked details about UW. Surprise.

Ford may ultimately stay home but things definitely point to UW.

Exactly ... the tea leaves have been saying that

This also reminds me of a similar path that Irvin’s recruitment went down

Plus Sony Michel. And no truly good upper classmen receivers... Isaac Nauta was their 3rd leading receiver as a true frosh TE

So he should have been better than a 55% completion percentage with a dominant running game?

Wow, and the best part is we have a whole other board to go ANALyze Eason’s freshman completion percentage!

Yeah, he probably should have been better. He didn’t really have to do that much though because his team was better than 2018 USC. I guess I look at Daniels numbers and think that he probably had more of an opportunity than Eason did.

With the visit this weekend and the hire of Kingsbury plus his obvious like of USC I jsut find it hard to say we are winning this battle. Yes there are some tea leaves that make me cautiously optimistic but I just don't see how we win this battle. Feel free to bump me if I am wrong.
