A twitter scuffle? With a recruit?Domicillo said:So Roof has finally switched her tune about Ford. The one WR she’s been adamantly saying she didn’t think would come here since he first took his visit back in September. I think her Twitter scuffle with him clouded her takes on UWs chances with him more than anything.
Anyone need further proof that Roof is flicking batty? A good recruiting reporter, perhaps. But cat lady batty.
I nominate Coker. -

You aren't wrong but I'd say it's partly that there's a lot more competition down here. In Seattle it seems like half the people that live there are either UW alumni or are related to someone who is.Passion said:
Disagree. I think that los angeles is so spread out that usc and ucla simply don't engender the same loyalty as UW, where it's much more part of the fabric of the community. The only exception is when usc is rolling (i.e., a decade ago under Carroll). In terms of generating local loyalty from high school recruits, I think that UW is closer to nebraska than to usc.animate said:
We can't have it both ways where we expect croots to easily leave home and come to UW and for Washington kids (like smalls currently and fozzy previously) to stay home and spurn out of state schools.
Just my opinion.
Down here more than half the population are transplants from all over anyways. At any given time even when USC is rolling it's a small minority of people who are alumni or have ties to the school.
What USC DOES still have is mystique and blue blood status. Sure, they've sucked since Carroll left but that success is still in the current collective unconscious and during its heyday was the identity of LA football since there was no NFL. They've done just well enough recently to stay relevant and be thought of as "a step away" which sells to recruits just like it does at UW. To be the last piece that's the #hometownhero that brings your local school you grew up loving back to prominence and relevance is exactly the type of dream we all grow up with.
If we are beating USC in spite of all of that we've definitely turned a massive corner. -

Fallen off a bit but in playoff years they sell out way more games than the Clippers have ever dreamed of. Also, more titles than the Clippers will ever have.RaceBannon said:Unofficial LA Power Rankings

LA Galaxy? Sandwiched betwen UCLA football and Trinity League?
-
People forget that the Galaxy have won 3 titles in the past 8 years. They forget that.animate said:LA Galaxy? Sandwiched betwen UCLA football and Trinity League?

So does such a list exist that lists the top 10 or top 20 guys in the trinity league over the last 3-5 yrs? If said list did exist, where would I find it?
I like threads and I feel like a positive story could be extrapolated from these said lists.
If not, we need @redmondlonghorn on the case, stat! -

Eklund chimes in saying it would take a miracle for USC to get him and he's leaning Oregon. Pretty sure he's the only guy who believes he's going to Oregon.
Also Pete was in home this week -
One thing I will say is roof definitely has a point when she says ektard copies her info. It does seem like every time she releases an information dump eklund releases one just hours later with very similar info. No mention of Pete being in home with Ford from dawgman until after Ruth dropped that nugget
-
Dood legit said it was USC and Oregon we had no shot, then the very next week said USC has no shot and it’s between us and Oregon, now Oregon is getting him.dhdawg said:Eklund chimes in saying it would take a miracle for USC to get him and he's leaning Oregon. Truth is no one fucking knows. We have the best connections, Oregon has the most playing time, USC has the best brand. He is just gonna pick one.
It’s so dumb to say USC doesn’t have a shot when they are closest to him, have a good education & post grad connections, have a brand, AND HAVE HIS LAST VISIT TO HELP GAIN MOMENTUM. Next week Ektard will say “ I won’t be surprised if he goes to Michigan even tho they have no shot” -
Oh it was intentional, I spent like 81 minutes crafting those two words alone.ExtraChrisB said:
The unintentional Bruhaha made me LOL, thanks for that. My favorite term for a fight, scuffle, dust up.Domicillo said:So Roof has finally switched her tune about Ford. The one WR she’s been adamantly saying she didn’t think would come here since he first took his visit back in September. I think her Twitter scuffle with him clouded her takes on UWs chances with him more than anything. Apparently, the primary reason for the change is she’s hearing Herbert isn’t gonna be coming back and that will take Oregon out of the picture for Ford. Combine that with the relationships he has with the UW coaches, the Pettis’ and current players at UW and we’re in a good spot.
I hate this new found consensus that’s forming with the recruiting peeps. It’s like no one really knows what’s gonna happen with Ford but everyone wants to say UW now.
Looks like we’re gonna be in a hard press after signing day on Ford, Nacua and Bru (haha). Can’t see all three ending up at SC and if Nacua doesn’t go to Utah and Ford doesn’t go to Oregon then we should get one of the three which makes sense why we’re fine without Kennedy. -
It may have been the Athletic article that said Ford will not go where Bru McCoy goes. That pretty much rules out USC. Everything I see from him points more toward UW than UO, with the lone exception being early PT.
His recruitment feels like Irvin's last year, where I was nervously optimistic about our chances for 3 months. History tells me to not expect good things in these situations, but I think we are probably favorites to land him. -
This is the first time I've legitimately let myself think we have a shot with this guy.
Fuck you all. -
It’s the fucking worse. Repeat after me: He’s going to USC. Kliff is going to turn him into Jerry Rice.HillsboroDuck said:This is the first time I've legitimately let myself think we have a shot with this guy.

From Oregon Board:
"In a UW article, Who's left on Washington's board, the author states that Oregon now appears the team to beat for Kyle Ford. Any thoughts or info on this? Go Ducks!!"
MattPrehm - "I don't think it is safe yet to say Oregon is the team to beat by themselves. Oregon knows they are in there with the best of them, but they aren't the clear favorite yet. Oregon has a lot of playing time to offer for Ford and he's liked the staff. It's going to come down to where he sees making the bigger impact quicker and then sustained impact."
Biggins on UW Board:
"Ask me after this weekend. UW leads right now but he has his SC visit this weekend and I want to see where he’s at following that trip. He could be blown away or not moved at all. Doing this 20+ years, I’ve seen this movie before where SC looks out of it for a local kid and then rallies late to steal him so I think it’s sfill up in the air until the visit."
From the Athletic:
Ford’s parents will be relied on heavily throughout the next few weeks. Dan said they speak about the process daily, and he tries to emphasize life after football to Kyle. The two can talk about things and Dan will kind of know what Kyle’s thinking and why, but he contends his son can be a hard read with certain things.
This legitimately seems like the biggest toss up. No one knows what Kyle is thinking, and he's keeping it close to the vest.
That said like others have noted he tends to talk in detail about the UW program, built for life, OKG, friends on the team, Eason, no WR like him, wearing a UW hat during the interview with the Athletic.... It just feels like he will be UW's. -
So I can't think of a WR of this level we've had under peterman. I don't think we have one currently on our roster either. If he has the playbook smarts, I could see PT next year. He is that good!Woof said:It may have been the Athletic article that said Ford will not go where Bru McCoy goes. That pretty much rules out USC. John Ross was the best player in the conference in 2016, Ford has a ways to go before he gets to that level.dirtysouwfdawg said:

He's much, much more refined coming in than Ross was though. But I'm hearing that adds nothing to his value. -
