All the tools you need are there. The training table, technique coaching and strength coaching will be available. With Coach K as his coach, Smalls will be a beast but it will take some time. Coach K is one of the best developers when it comes to pass rushers and you have seen that with his latest project in Joe Tryon. Being in a structured environment will be good for Smalls and while I don't expect a big impact year one, I do expect him to have a nice career at UW and be a key piece on defense.

Even so, if the disrespect was really unreal, you would think he would be motivating Smalls to work his ass off to get better and become the clear cut #1. That didn’t happen. Smalls was a possible meal ticket for Joey Thomas. Nothing else.jhfstyle24 said:
Less the TBSers, his father figure coach was tweeting and telling him the disrespect was unreal when he was ranked 2nd in the nation.Kingdome_Urinals said:He's not explosive at the snap and doesn't seem to have a ton of answers when he's engaged by a lineman.
But he's still pretty good. He's been getting blown by TBSers for so long that I don't think he's been hungry for a while, ever?
2nd best high schooler in the nation disrespected at an unreal level. Yeah, no. That'll get in your head. -

I'm loathe to post the Donkey-Kong Suh picture again so I won't, but I'm more optimistic that considering that picture along with him enrolling this month, being local and having FSP at his disposal over the summer after some reality has been dropped on him, we should be able to have a pretty good idea if we should be crowning his ass this year. If his contributions are meager, I think that bodes pretty poorly for him reaching his potential.Swaye said:We? have used thousands of words to say something very simple. Final rankings for rivals tomorrow, is he inside the top 20 or outside the top 20? I’m guess 24.

Biggins had a "dont kill the messenger" post on doogman a few days ago re: Smalls and so I'm pretty sure Savell will be dropping out of 5 star range but you never knowTheironshiek said:Final rankings for rivals tomorrow, is he inside the top 20 or outside the top 20? I’m guess 24.

Yea Biggins had some unflattering things to say about him recently but also said the ceiling is pretty high if he puts in the work. They played him at 3 different spots during the all star game. Seems a little harsh to judge him on how well he played when he wasn’t in one spot long enough to do anything.

Rivals he'll be outside for sure.Theironshiek said:Final rankings for rivals tomorrow, is he inside the top 20 or outside the top 20? I’m guess 24.
Sticking with my prediction that he'll end up a 4 star on Rivals (and maybe a pretty big drop), 5 star but dropped some on 247, 5 star on ESPN. -
I hope all three services drop him to a 3-star. I'd rather see him with a chip on his shoulder than a silver spoon in his ass.

Two types of idiots in this wide world of sports......Those blowing smoke up your ass and ones driving you to get better.....

Genre porn is a funny thing, sometimes you'll be surprised what rustles your jimmies. -
Does this mean we are not in the Clemson path if he is not a 5 star? Asking for a friend. Thanks

Who cares

It’s not harsh. Enough excuses for the kid. Either he will be good or he won’t.Theironshiek said:Yea Biggins had some unflattering things to say about him recently but also said the ceiling is pretty high if he puts in the work. Dropped further than I thought, he’s at 48

I've always said he's a top 150 guy so 48 is fine.Theironshiek said:Dropped further than I thought, he’s at 48

But I thought he was the most important recruit in husky history

If you're talking race relations with a program under Pete? Sure, or close to it if we're talking recent history.Penace said:But I thought he was the most important recruit in husky history
But it's a smoother road with coach jimmyhat here now.

50+ new poasts had me thinking he was Kaho'ing it. Who gives a fuck what the rankings have him finalized as? Irregardless he's a YUGE upgrade at a position of need where we've had gaps in recruiting.

Q: You watched Savell Smalls all week In Orlando, what are your thoughts... Floor/Ceiling, how long before he really reaches his potential and what is that potential? Did he impress you or do you think he slips in the rankings?
Biggins: So keeping it real, he struggled during the week. Some of our national guys seeing him for the first time said he was one of the guys who didn't really look like he belonged. During one on one play, he struggled with the size of a lot of the tackles he went up against and wasn't physically able to match up with the size and power he saw. He was moved around from OLB, DE and even DT and played all three positions in the game. He actually made more plays in the game then he showed during the week using his quickness to win one on one matchups when he played over the center. I still like him as a 3-4 OLB and think he still has a chance to be very good in college. I have to think the week going against elite-level talent was a bit humbling and should drive him moving forward. I've said it so many times but there are just different animals in the South and as a west coast homer, it pains me to say that but the size and athleticism you see in the trenches from outside the region is the biggest reason why our teams out here struggle against those teams.
Doog: Because he's not committed to a school named Alabama, The Ohio State University, Clemson, etc.
Biggins: This is a terrible take, and one I see often though. I could care less where a player is going to college, reality is, he was not good during the week and I'm not going to highlight a player who didn't perform. He struggled every day in practice, he flashed a bit during the game but we really need to get over this whole, 'no one is talking up our guys because they don't go to the right college.'

Everything matters. Your? coach is twatting about the NUMBER ONE CLASS(even though he's wrong) and telling recruits at UW's junior day the same thing.UW_Doog_Bot said:50+ new poasts had me thinking he was Kaho'ing it. 1. 247 argues Smalls was a bit overrated.
2. Lake is wrong that UW had the #1 class, even though according to the very same 247 that is absolutely the case.
