They are like 1A and 1B ... if you don't have minimum arm strength it doesn't matter how smart you are ...dnc said:

Uhh does Sirmon vert 39" inches and run a 4.67 40 yard dash? Sirmon's arm talent is a bit better though.Tequilla said:Sirmon has more physical talent ... but his intangibles need to get better to be a great QB ... that's part of being 17 and everybody matures differently ...
Almost all top programs he will go to will find him in a position where he will have to compete ... it is what it is.
There is room in this class for 2 QBs ... whether we will end up with 2 QBs is TBD
After that, the next set of most important skills for a QB are all in the mental intangible side of the game from reading defenses to leading a team.
If overall physical ability was so important for a QB Then Tom Brady wouldn't be Tom Brady -
And if you don't have minimum smarts it doesn't matter how hard you can throwTequilla said:

The mental side takes a backseat to no set of skills. Browning's a great example of this. His height and weight are below average but sufficient, and his arm strength is way below average, but he's a damn good (not great) college QB because of what's above his shoulders. -
Yeah, obviously brain for a QB matters. But there is no way for us to know a kids brain in regards to football intelligence. That's one where you have to #TrustTheCoaches.

Because the initial comment from BTP was tied specifically to physical attributes ... there was no mention of anything between the ears ...dnc said:

It's a massively circular argument ... if you don't have the brain it doesn't matter what your physical tools are because you're massively behind the 8 ball ... and if you have the brain but not the physical skills you just can't play at a high level because it limits you and your team's ability to have a full playbook available.
You're trying way too hard to get me in a "gotcha" moment ... leave that kind of stupidity to @RoadDawg55 -

I think this is probably true, but I would imagine there are some hints as far as to whether a kid is simply a one read guy, decision making, his leadership skills, etc.CokeGreaterThanPepsi said:Yeah, obviously brain for a QB matters. FWIW it seems that Sirmon has some leadership in him. He seems to enjoy recruiting and the other recruits seem to like him. That's not all there is to being a leader (see Williams, Troy), but it suggests he has the type of personality that could lead if he uses it correctly. -
okay, this little bitchfight between you two is ruining the thread. just take it to PMs at this point.
