There's a reason a goofy socialist who's 75 and might be an atheist was so successful. A lot of liberals were turned off by her warmongering, and corruption

Yeah, but she won the fucking ticket, and those "turned off" liberals sure as fuck did not vote for Trump.

Trump is not in office because Hillary wasn't liberal enough. Jesus guys. Remember what we're discussing.

No - Hillary spent too much time in the south to be a Bay Area liberal. She's been in politics at the highest levels way too long to not have some dirt under her nails, and she may just be more centrist than a chick who doesn't shave her arm pits would like.

It doesn't mean she's not liberal. She's fucking liberal from where I stand.
Yes the conservatives that think she wants abortions for everyone, to confiscate all guns, to raise taxes on the wealthy to 90%, and welfare for everyone else thinks she's a liberal.
You make no sense. The fact that there are people with ridiculous views about who she is means exactly what to this discussion?

Some things are simple - keep them that way. She favors liberal policies and appeals to a majority of liberal-leaning people.

That there are people who are more liberal who don't think she's liberal enough, and that there are people who are conservative who exaggerate in their heads who she is, seems to be of no consequence to the point. Can you help me out here?

Hillary is a liberal politician. She is left of center on most big issues.

    Why are we arguing this?
You said she's a liberal from where you stand. But she's really more moderate, which actually backfired on her. She wasn't liberal enough to rile up her base.
Nobody knew she needed to rile them up ... she thought she'd right in right behind Obama and underestimated the opposition. Most people didn't see the backlash coming. The Dems certainly did not.

We can split hairs on where she resides on the political spectrum all day long. I don't care where you or anyone else would place her. Relative to me and the conservatives I know - she's a liberal. Again, for the 20th time, that there are people more liberal than she doesn't make her not-liberal. If she's not liberal, then we need a new labeling system.

We all get it - it's not secret knowledge, the Clinton's are not radical left wingers across the board and have their share of establishment in them. But their policies, by and large, are fundamentally inconsistent with a conservative political platform.

All that really matters about Hillary is that she royally fucked up the campaign. THAT is why she lost. Not because she's too moderate. Moderate Dems do beautifully in the American political establishment.

Disagree. If you are a liberal democrat, Hillary is a fine candidate.

They lost because they mangled the campaign. Period. She is perfectly electable. She's just a shitty showman and she pandered to her party's current "obsession with cultural issues." That and the mangling of the immigration issue is what killed her.
Any liberal would tell you that Hillary is not a liberal. She made to many mistakes in the campaign to discuss. And I don't think the rust belt States that elected her were ready for a female president.
Mabye - I can agree with all that, and I also agree that she's not the most liberal of liberals - but she's pretty fucking liberal my friend. At least on the big issues.
She's not liberal at fucking all. Fuck off with this bullshit.
    Let's put it this way:

I would jump tax brackets, AGAIN, to pay for shit for other people who can't pay for it themselves, under Hillary.

People who tuck their cocks between their legs would be able to shit next to my daughters in public women's bathrooms all over the US if they felt more comfortable doing so, under Hillary.

A single payer system of health care would flourish, under Hillary.

    Liberal.

Those things are not as likely now, under Trump.

    Not liberal.
WTF'd for thinking hillary wants single payer
She can't shove it down our throats all at once. Obamacare is a step in that direction, and she has said she'd favor a 'public option' to complement the current structure. No, I wouldn't trust her on this point ... with enough support, I can clearly see her taking the ACA up a notch.

    Doesn't matter.

The left will spend the next four years whining about what a shit campaign and poor candidate they put forth in Hilary. But god forbid they stop talking down from their intellectual elitism perch that turns off the entire country save those living ten miles from the coast.

^ THIS @dnc is yet another example of why those of us who decry that our once honorable party has been hijacked by religious fundies and goof ball ideologues are not celebrating in the streets.

The bounce back after he's done could be staggering, paving the way for a Bernie -level socialist to finally make it all the way. The concern, in short, is that Trump will fuck it up the too much.

When the poor white trash in the Grays Harbor and Mason counties of the country don't have a black guy to fire at anymore, and then begin to realize they have as much in common with a prep school educated Manhattan developer as they do with the man on the moon, they'll flip back to whomever the Dems throw at them. All they'll have to do is learn the lesson Hillary learned the hard way: say the word "jobs" early and often, promise you'll return the free benies Trump took away, don't mention immigration at all, lie about taxes, say something about a swamp, and for all that is holy, don't parade around or connect your candidacy with a black dude married to an uppity black woman.

If they do all that, and they will, the poor white trash will put them right back in power.

And then we're good and fucked and will live like the Swedes in no time.

McConnell, Ryan and Donnie are TERRIBLE Republicans. I need my party to get back to the point where a dummy like Rubio with no chops can't rise to leadership. Where the religious loons like Cruz are kept in a fringe box. Fuck these guys make Rand Paul seem resosonable.

I would gladly "chincredible" every one of your posts, especially this one but excluding that "The U" bullshit, but I know you will just LEAVE again, and this board will revert to its white trashy self.
First off, don't fuck with Da U. Es mi baaaarrio holmes.

Second, you're right - It is almost that time isn't it? My ADD is kicking in, and this place is becoming less and less amusing. I need about a 5 to 9 month break every so often to recharge the creep.

But just like Santa, I'll be back. Be good in the mean time.

It's too bad that both parties have moved from the center, especially the Democrats.

Would love to see Trump wrong-foot the gender / reproductive obsessives by not talking about and ultimately not touching Planned Parenthood. I think the bathroom thing is silly and only 0.3% of the population is transgendered.

As for 2016, it's amazing to witness the difference in election talent between two respected competitors (Clinton vs. Dole) compared to 20 years later with Hillary vs. Trump.

Agree on the increased polarization and gradual slide towards the fringes of each orientation. Thats a chicken and egg problem, but it also exacerbates itself. The pendulum will almost always swing as far in the other direction when it changes course.

I'll maintain Hilary losing and The Donald winning is the best thing that could have happened to this country at this particular time.

The guy is going to go balls deep on the rest of the world and that's not a bad thing. America FIRST.

All the world that has been leaching off our teet and weakening our influence will be put on notice. We've been the gullible grandma willing to blindly write a blank check to our crackhead underlings for way too long.

The left preaches tolerance, but suddenly it's an issue that our President has a positive relationship with Russia. Putin respects trump because he knows that the dude will end him if he fucks around.

Finally a leader that will call a spade a spade, how refreshing.

Yeah that's the narrative alright. We shall see. In my lifetime I've learned that foreign affairs are seldom that simple. And then there's the economy. But it does feel good to talk tuff again.
