The worst thing about that team was that the guards could not throw an entry pass down low to save their lives. Sad, just not good basketball, sad. We're gonna make UW great again and Oregon is going to pay for it.
Wasn't Hawes, but the building of the team around him as the featured player, which then got uprooted when he left. Same thing happened with Wroten. He works on his drives to the hoop while other guys aren't learning to pass, move, or defend. Who reaps the biggest benefit? The team, or the featured player? It's not the player's fault. It's the coaches who build the team around one player instead of developing a complete team. Once again, it goes back to Romar. He could have designed plays to incorporate Hawes and Wroten into the entire team, but instead made them the focal point. UW will never build a good team that way. Romar has fed his own demise.
