I have never owned a gun and I wouldn't argue that the only reason to have guns is to be armed in case of a mass shooting because nobody is making that argument. It's another straw man because the anti gun arguments are so weak.

If we have an issue with mental illness, and we do, we need to revisit putting people back in lock up for mental illness. We emptied the hospitals.

Alright Race says he's not saying we need to something and everyone agrees with him. So if we don't need to do something then we can do nothing. All I want is our society to change for the better. But if you guys don't want it that's cool.

There's a deep psychological wound or rot within the American psyche, ideological questions that will have to be resolved. In the meanwhile, it's not an ethical stance to ignore the constant barrage of gun deaths. Over 350 of at least 3 fatalities this year? Fuck off if tou don't think that that's a crisis.
