The other thing that bothered me about Smith was before the Oregon game, when he said the 11 game losing streak made him sick to his stomach and kept him up at night.
How can that be true? He hasn't been here and gone through everything that we've endured. It was a Sark kind of thing to say.

Not sure who said it but Smith is not learning on the job...if anything he's regressed. Peterman admitted when he was hired that he was getting burned out at BSU...now that he's here with the offense in flames anyone think he's putting in the extra hours to mentor Babushka and get personally involved to fix the O? Its a flaming pile, and unless we are fortunate enough to roll up single digits on the offense for the rest of the season I don't think Peterman has the balls to admit that a) he effed up the hire, b) whatever this stupid O system he is trying doesn't work week-in/week-out at the Power5 level, and c) the vision/uncertainty/effort to change course 2 years in. There is no threat to his job right now.
We've rolled out, what 5 highly recruited QBs in 2 years and they all have looked like shite. So of course it must be the talent and we are young and such and every other excuse under the sun and not the fact the coaching/system that they are in blows.
If they give Gaskin the ball 25+ times and actually run the ball early, things might look decent by the end of the year. There are some bad defenses on the remaining schedule, starting with Arizona.
Random Play Generator was trademarked by me, check the facts. That's why DJ had to go with Decision Maker. Irregardless, he'll be hearing from my lawyers

Does bad offense beat bad defense? I can't remember. Who cares, lets all color coordinate ourselves Saturday and forget the drivel we've seen from Smiff.

Ironically I still haven't seen the post referencing The Random Play Generator.
IF Peterson were to fire Smith at the 50 now and not have the offense improve markedly. It would further expose him for what He is. A great non P5 coach but an average or who knows maybe even worse P5 coach. If you all had your wish of being able to run Gaskin 25 times per game, you'd probably be better off, but would he hold up all Season?

In a way that's not the point. Give it to Gaskin 17 times and DWarsh 8 times, instead, or whatever. The point is why put all the stress on a shitty, inexperienced QB to win the game when it's not necessary and pretty damn stupid?
Nice 1st post dipshit. Care to state what you think Peter is delusional about? And dont spit out the obvious Johnny Smith bullshit. Has little to do with him. Ok Mayo, lets see what you got. This isnt dawgman, where you were posting this morning till boredom and kim ran you off, go ahead and feel free to speak here...
Seems like the line of thinking on here is that Petersen won't fire Smith because he never fires people. Essentially he fired Robert Prince by not bringing him over from Boise in the transition. This is a coach who has a pretty good legacy working. I can't imagine he wants to fuck up that legacy by employing someone who is effectively tarnishing it. Coach Pete has showed pretty good balls so far when firing players. I don't think he's scared to do the same with coaches. We shall see.
P.S. Results on the field are still on the head coach but Smith makes a pretty convenient scapegoat.

Do you always write your posts in poetic free verse, or does the return button just really turn you on?
Looking up at the stars, I know quite well That, for all they care, I can go to hell, But on earth indifference is the least We have to dread from man or beast.
How should we like it were stars to burn With a passion for us we could not return? If equal affection cannot be, Let the more loving one be me.
Admirer as I think I am Of stars that do not give a damn, I cannot, now I see them, say I missed one terribly all day.
Were all stars to disappear or die, I should learn to look at an empty sky And feel its total dark sublime, Though this might take me a little time.
