Excellent article. Slight nit: the Fiesta Bowl in question was 2007, not 2008.

Good chit by our favorite dictator... -
If we don't know what play we are going to run, how can they know?
Smith logic. -

I dunno. Smith is clearly learning on the job which sucks. As I replied to Tequilla in the thread where @Gladstone has gone OBK on me Smith was clearly not the right hire but now that he is making improvement maybe he can be the right guy going forward. I appreciate and recognize @EsophagealFeces concern that it is too little too late because we still aren't there in terms of play calling. I don't think Petersen needs to stick with Smith and would happily welcome a proven, capable OC to replace Smith. I don't think replacement is the only possible route to success though. Maybe it is and in a year our offense will still suck and we'll need to clean house again. As @Dennis_DeYoung there is no fucking way Petersen is replacing Smith and I think that is probably true. Only time will tell. -
thing is, if Petersen did admit he fucked up and fired that fucker.....everyone would cheer and weep tears of joy
-
This fucking university always hires people who need to learn on the job. I guess that's what happens when you have a shit tier program for a decade and a half.
-
This is really why I'm so fucking mad. I could deal with this shit if I thought there was hope it would end after the year. I have no confidence that Pete will do what needs to be done. That's the most disappointing thing.Mad_Son said:

Sounds like it might be time for a HH grassroots letter to the AD effort.DerekJohnson said:

(Especially since the Seattle media won't do it) </p> -
The shitty thing is that for a lot of casual fans--who also happen to be the demo that the AD seems to be hell bent on attracting--Peterman just got here, and they probably have no idea how bad it's gotten. Realized this the other day when I was standing in the View Ridge Top Pot and some guy was talking to his kid about the UW helmet signed by the coaches like it was this new thing. The Marinerization thing hits the issue right on the nail, people don't give a fuck about whether they win or lose beyond reaching a yearly bowl game in sunny Las Vegas or San Diego.

Does Pool Boy?

Without real pressure, (there is none) Petersen will stick to his principles and let coordinator and offense "mature" together. It will be a beautiful post coital merging of shitty young coach and wasted young talent. I can't wait. Thanks gents, I think I need to go clean my guns and think for a while.

Not letting lots of people onto the bandwagon when *we* win the north next year

I can hate Pete right now and still be on the 3 year plan.PostGameOrangeSlices said:Not letting lots of people onto the bandwagon when *we* win the north next year
I'm not optimistic about the 3 year plan. -
Win out. Fuck. Stud frosh rb and a capable D. Get turnovers, pound them in their cunts. Fucking Win out. And yes that includes Utah.
-
He couldn't admit his chart was wrong last year. I don't expect him to succumb to fan complaints this year. He won't fire Smith just to try and prove everyone wrong.

The other thing that bothered me about Smith was before the Oregon game, when he said the 11 game losing streak made him sick to his stomach and kept him up at night.
How can that be true? He hasn't been here and gone through everything that we've endured. It was a Sark kind of thing to say. -

Not sure who said it but Smith is not learning on the job...if anything he's regressed. Peterman admitted when he was hired that he was getting burned out at BSU...now that he's here with the offense in flames anyone think he's putting in the extra hours to mentor Babushka and get personally involved to fix the O? Its a flaming pile, and unless we are fortunate enough to roll up single digits on the offense for the rest of the season I don't think Peterman has the balls to admit that a) he effed up the hire, b) whatever this stupid O system he is trying doesn't work week-in/week-out at the Power5 level, and c) the vision/uncertainty/effort to change course 2 years in. There is no threat to his job right now.
We've rolled out, what 5 highly recruited QBs in 2 years and they all have looked like shite. So of course it must be the talent and we are young and such and every other excuse under the sun and not the fact the coaching/system that they are in blows.

If they give Gaskin the ball 25+ times and actually run the ball early, things might look decent by the end of the year. There are some bad defenses on the remaining schedule, starting with Arizona.
-
Random Play Generator was trademarked by me, check the facts. That's why DJ had to go with Decision Maker. Irregardless, he'll be hearing from my lawyers

Does bad offense beat bad defense? I can't remember. Who cares, lets all color coordinate ourselves Saturday and forget the drivel we've seen from Smiff.RoadDawg55 said:If they give Gaskin the ball 25+ times and actually run the ball early, things might look decent by the end of the year. Hey JSmith, I looked at your chart. You fucked up. You talk like a fag, and your shit's all retarded.
-
IF Peterson were to fire Smith at the 50 now and not have the offense improve markedly. It would further expose him for what He is. A great non P5 coach but an average or who knows maybe even worse P5 coach. If you all had your wish of being able to run Gaskin 25 times per game, you'd probably be better off, but would he hold up all Season?
