I've always figured that Haden would remove himself from the picture before the new coach was hired. That may not necessarily be the case now as Haden is moving with urgency trying to cover his ass.
Regardless, this is a miserable situation for USC. Barring Haden getting pushed out the door almost immediately and they have a built in replacement for him in place, SC is fucked. The time required to go through a full blown AD search will take them well into the offseason picture and past the point where most coaching/recruiting activity will take place. Without that, they are stuck with Haden leading up the next coaching search. If they try to hire the coach without the AD, then you have the always fucked up situation of an AD inheriting a coach that he may not want leading to more turnover.
Let's be honest, SC is in a fucked up situation for them ... worst case scenario for them ... other than hiring Todd Turner as his replacement and Tawdy going out and giving Tyrone a chance for redemption.
