Sorry, you lost me here. Miles's mechanics are not pretty. And he definitely showed a lot of panic against Stanford. But it bears repeating:

To put it another way, UW will not play another defense that good for the rest of the (regular) season. And to me, UW's defense looked the equal of Stanford's yesterday. Let that sink in.

In four career starts against lesser defenses, Miles has directed the offense to 69, 59, 44, and 45 points. Including the 13-point dreckfest yesterday, that's still an average of 46.0 ppg. Miles looked very poised in extended duty against solid UCLA and BYU defenses last year as well.

Even if Miles can for some reason only muster 36.0 ppg from here on out, that's still a very comfortable margin for this defense to work with.

    TSINO.

As for last year, the had a running game with Sankey that needed to be respected. Without that, miles is in a whole different situation.

So Ga state, Illinois and EWU have defenses on par ASU,AZ,CAL,UCLA, CU, oregon, osu, and WSU to the extent that the offense is going to put up 36 points a game average? Good fucking Christ. Whatever. I have all the screen shots I need. Bunch of malarkey.

And based on 4-0, 0-1 is is really no surprise.
Not to those that payed attention to how we played in those first 4 games... and some of us predicted this loss (links avail if needed).

But I think it was a surprise for those predicting a win.

You said the first four defenses were "by far" the worst defenses we'd see. I guess it depends on how you want define "by far" but, even after Saturday, I'd be surprised if we didn't average over 40 vs ASU, AZ, Cal, Colorado and Wazzu. The Pac-12 is fucking dreck.

I'm sick of losing, period. Like you said, the game could have gone either way. But, the Huskies didn't do the little things that could have given them a real chance at winning. I'm tired of perspective. When is this fucking program going to turn the corner and become a legitimate threat?

I think this is my problem with the bored right now.

I stopped caring about UW 4 years ago. I realize how long it's been since we've been good but I also haven't been beaten down by Sark. I haven't cared that UW lost since Nebraska beat the shit out of them in Husky Stadium. The Stanford game yesterday was a hell of a lot better than that game.

You guys have to realize that Peterman has nothing to do with the last decade.

The battered wife metaphor gets used a lot around here. And it's perfect for right now. Y'all are acting like your ex husband used to beat the shit out of you. The problem is your new boyfriend hasn't. But you keep flinching every time he gets near you.

In summation; lose the baggage. Y'all gotta get over it. And let it fucking play out.
Solid post. I stopped caring in August of 1993. I stopped going after Arizona in 2007. I had been skipping games and my two dads were getting too bad to go. That was the only reason I kept tickets that long.

Peterman is the first hope I've had since a brief fling with Rick. When he lost to Cal at home we were through.

I realize the internets are built on over reaction and anger but I am willing to give Peterman two years. I think there are a lot of good signs. I hope to get mad when we lose again sometime. People want to vent and that's cool. There's a lot of season left and a lot of work to do
You're living proof that having 2 dads doesn't totally fuck a person up.

I feel like we'll start to see at least an overall effort and concentration difference once Pete's redshirt's get in next year. Would not be shocked.

I understand it was a painful loss, especially with the offense looking so bad and the really stupid fake punt, but...

    1. Stanford has the top ranked defense in college football.
    content.usatoday.com/sportsdata/football/ncaaf/stats/team-total-defense

    2. Our defense seems to improve each week.

The part about Miles that I didn't understand is why he seems to never keep the read option - is that him or the coaches? If you're going to use a QB who is not the greatest passer but is athletic, let him or make him run.

The game could have gone either way.

at least our coach sounded like a grown-up when answering questions about Miley and other aspects of the team's performance. His predecessor just jizzed mindless frat-boy speak (sorry for you former frat boys - it's true - you all sound the same): "good effert. we need to get better and that starts with me. no excuses but the QB needs to trust the coaching staff and the other players aren't athletic enough to play at USC and I just got a blowjob at Joey's."

Peterman actually answers questions. His point about Miley pressing, and why he was pressing, were particularly spot on, to me anyway.

    So there's that.

I actually like how Peterman said that taking chances is part of what they will do going forward. He basically owned that it was a dumbshit decision, but he isn't going to shy away from it because of what happened, they will just pick their spots better.
