I don't know. Maybe John Dutton could fund the clinical trials.
Neither one of my recent several PCPs have been pill pushers. Both are strong athletes who eat extremely clean. One even recommended an herbal supplement which I take cause why not.

Physical activity is the "natural remedy" that matters above all else. This isn't hard, expect that for most people it is.

Holistic would have been a better word than natural. Pardon my late night musings.
I spoke w a GI doctor once who told me I needed to change my diet. I was legitimately open to what he had to say. He was Indian (dot) so I thought he might be about to impart some auyervedic wisdom. No chance. He slid a piece of paper at me with the food pyramid and the four food groups - SAD. I left in disgust as I already knew I couldn’t eat half that shit.

A bit of OJ (not too much - don't wanna get diabetes)
Chia Seeds - one of nature's greatest super foods
Bunch of Power Greens
Scoop of whey protein powder (24 grams of protein)

I spoke with a doctor yesterday. I offered a handful of alternative therapies. All poo poo’d for his much more (literally) toxic and grossly expensive approach. And the solution is he needs to sell better?
With all due respect I think that misses the mark when it comes to discussing efficaciousness of complex problems..

Once fruit touches the blender it increases the hypoglycemic index by 4x. With that said, I still choose the antioxidant benefits of dark berries in small amounts.
I include power greens, chia seeds, a protein powder, various mushrooms and other supplements.
I usually take the yogurt, cottage cheese probiotics separately.
*Disappointed to find out the protein powder I bought from WF and like is now owned by Nestle. Will be shopping for another option.

This is hardcore Husky. No one is due any respect.
I have no idea what specific ailment/issue you’re trying to get right. From extensive personal experience I am referring to the issues that doctors have convincing patients to eat somewhat healthy and exercise to control diabetes and blood pressure. -
But I could find next year I have colon cancer or some other bad luck life surprise. I'm still supposed to call the doc's to schedule the corn hole snaking.
Yes, I am "lucky" vs the norm. I was raised by fitness focused father and was able to get into skiing and mt biking at young age. I get to work from home and live in an outdoor exercise wonderland.
But regardless of background, almost anyone is going to benefit from getting some physical activity. Sedentary lifestyle + SAD is the root of all of our problems.

Here's a pic of those guys in 1986 (50th anniversary) when they were in their early 70s and still took the Husky Clipper out for a spin every ten year.
No obesity. No mobility scooters. Great muscle mass. The could all still take a boat out and row it around in their early 70s.

For reference, the whlinder T1 Diabeetus diet:
Breakfast
- Two cups coffee, w/ half and half
- 1 cup (measured out) of greek yogurt, mixed Costco fat free organic with a 2% version w/ vanilla usually
- OR 2 eggs cooked in olive oil over easy
- Banana
That's 6-7 times per week
Lunch
- ~2/3 cups of nuts, typically walnuts but can be mixed
- OR ~2/3 cup of peanut butter, eaten straight
- Apple
Usually 5 times per week unless swapped out for leftovers. Weekends I eat other stuff.
Dinner varies but always try to reduce the carb intake. YOLO so am much less strict and eat meat and other fun stuff then, along with vegetables.

When you sit at a desk for 8 hours you don't burn much… The nuts is a best guess since I usually eyeball that, it might be more, but there are 200 calories in 1/4 cup of walnuts.
It is all to support caloric excess at dinner and when golfing

I walk less back in the shitty NW but I cut down to one meal several years ago to drop almost 50 pounds and found it is a good thing with less exercise. Still seeing some weight creep
I'm 5-11 and at 160 I feel great. Could fight Roberto Duran

I hear you on the glycemic piece. But I like the nutrient density part. I’m eating a lot sugar otherwise throughout the day.
What’s the knock on nestle if the protein product is good ?

Nutrient density should have been included with antioxidant benefits. We are in agreement.
Without getting into any specific sins of Nestle, I generally don't trust multi-national food conglomerates. I don't trust them for a second to add weird and/or addictive chemicals and preservatives to the mix. Let's be honest about the fact Nestle mostly sells ultra processed food stuffs. They got their start selling sugar (chocolate).

6’4” 205 right now. In 2024 have fluctuated between 199 and 210. Working to keep it sub 205 going forward.

Ok, so upon my unqualified layman's research, sounds like blending the seeded berries- e.g., raspberries and black berries actually might lower their glycemic load. Not sure on the blue berries and guessing it's not ideal on the nanners.
But adding in the chia seeds, Greek yogurt, and whey protein helps to slow absorption?
