    Doubtful that it did.

But home boy is also taking a jab at the vegans for using a plant based formula in the first place.

And formula is always going to have some random ingredients in there for shelf life and what not.

He isn't making fun of the vegan, per se. He is pointing at the ignorance of thinking something 'plant-based' when it's clearly 'chemical-based'.

    Preservatives mean you don't.

    (not you personally)

    I'm fine with this take.

I refer to that as eating food. Is it food? That’s good.

    Is it not food? Bad.

Just cause it has calories does not mean it’s food.
(I don’t follow it 100% of the time but try to get close to that)

pawz is kinda losing sight of the fact that vitamins are chemicals and chemical compounds.

My old man always liked to say that if you eat all organic food you'll die of organic cancer. He was also a doctor of internal medicine and the first man in his family to live past 55 - thanks to statin drugs. Hate pharmaceuticals all you want, but they've saved millions of lives between statin drugs and antibiotics alone.

If you want to live into your 90's, have parents that lived into their 90's. That's the surefire way. My granny hit 94 in spite of smoking two packs a day for 80 years plus or minus. Had the genes for it.

What cracks me up about diets is the way everyone tries to convince everyone else that their diet is some miracle when eating less and exercising more is such a simple formula.

I've been on a diet for 50 years with a minute by minute view of my blood glucose for the last 10 or so - and exercise is the key to keeping your weight in check and your arteries healthy. Insulin not only makes you feel slow and sluggish, it also hardens your arteries, so avoiding spikes in your BG is a good idea. A meal that takes me 10 units of insulin to deal with if I sit on the couch takes less than 5 to deal with if I engage in almost any physical activity. The difference is big even with just a moderate amount of exercise.

Good luck to anybody trying to do healthier things - it's not all that easy to watch what you eat and stay motivated to exercise. Don't disregard pharmaceuticals, though. Ask Jim Fixx about that.

I think reasonable folks can debate what sort of reforms are needed for Big Pharma and the Medical Industrial complex and their roles in the health or lack there of for Americans.

But as father of 7 year old who almost died twice of respiratory issues at age 10 months and then 2 years, I can only take some much bashing of pharma and the MI complex. They ain't all bad.

Seattle Children's is the #1 amenity in the Emerald City IMHO.

I'm not saying all pharmaceuticals are bad. Some saved my life this past year alone. I'm saying the pendulum has swung way too far in a lot of cases. Also, I'm not trashing essential vitamins and minerals. But I'm hard-pressed to find many of those on the back of the aforementioned label.

The rest of your post elaborates on what should be the first option - which i support completely.

Come play in the Tug for old-time sake. The Super Bowl is less than a week away.

    I miss the donkey-bombs. Amirite @RaceBannon ?

I'll pass on the Tug - it tends to lead to feelings of tension and aggression for me.

    Very unhealthy.

I take a look once in a while, but that's just to see who's still alive. I think Unleashed killed SLBOB with all his rage posting - and I'm a little worried Race might follow in those those footsteps. Hope not - Race is good people.
