I did not read his. No. I read another one positing how putting them on the endangered species list early, when they are really just threatened, could assist in using more laws against poachers (jail time, etc). So, I assumed his link was to something like that - the rhinos aren't actually endangered, but we will call them endangered so we can better enforce anti poaching laws.
As an aside, there is not one legit hunter I know who wouldn't run over poachers if given the chance. Poachers fucking suck, for everyone - PETA, hunters, game management officials, etc. Fuck them.
