America is happy to buy oil from the rebels to help fund them. But if you're trying to imply that the Syrian Civil War is the result of some petrodollar warhawking, you're wrong.
The US does not "Control 1/3 of Syria". The US has been giving nominal support to the rebels, who have continuously lost ground, by the way.
If the US really wanted to, the Syrian govt. would be gone in less than a week.
