I like how you loosely define economic output as "goods and services" and crisply define it as "shit."creepycoug said:...
I mean, I get it. Minimum wage means, among other things, that shit (defined loosely as goods and services) will cost more.

Not that I agree with the hike, though it will be phased in over 4 to 7 years depending on business. It's not like everyone has to be paying it tomorrow. let it play out or move out. You can thank the government and all the geniuses that work there.
Raising minimum wage isn't the answer, the rich can spend their money on so many pairs shoes, clothes and vacations and the pillow fluffers, food service slaves, and the toilet that the rich and middle class rely for their comfort and people shit on need somewhat of a livable wage.
Hell the people that pick all your beautiful food at Whole Foods make about $40 bucks a on 14 hour work day. No one give a shit about these people.
Damone? I am sure you have the answer?
Also, if you still consider yourself a repbulican or a democrat you might as well DIAF. Same party expect for 2 or 3 wedge issues. Both parties love big government, invading other countries, killing people and spying on the American sheep. Obama's kill list and drone program would be hailed by repubs if it were Bush's program and the dems would be screaming to the skies that bush is a murderer.....of course the dems don't say shit.
All partisan BS.
This country is screwed until congressmen start fearing for their lives. They work about 30-40 days a year and are paid a low salary of a 174k...and they bitch they can't live on that.

The paragraph starting with "Also, if.." was ok. Everything before that was pretty shitty. Maybe Econ isn't your thing. That's ok. A lot of people suck at it. $15/hr minimum wage won't mark the end of the world. It's still shit pay, but it's much better than $8 and far more fair and reasonable. Work should pay. If a full time job doesn't pay enough to keep someone off of foodstamps, that job is garbage and the company providing that job needs to be hit with penalties that will encourage them to start offering a liveable wage. They can absorb the cost by decreasing the salaries of upper management, decreasing somewhat the obscene difference in pay between the lowest and the highest paid employees that has become the American norm. Most of you have nothing but negative things to say about Seattle. You should be happy it may be the proving ground to decide the debate.

Damone I am leaving econ 101 up to you.

Yet he agrees with me and basically said your position can be reduced to shit with a basic understanding of freshman Econ.oregonblitzkrieg said:CreepyCuoag is the most clued in poster on the economic board.
You spout off, but refuse to educate yourself in the basics. I provided links to a couple things to help you, but you choose to remain ignorant. -
I'm sure even you can figure out that a full time job that doesn't provide a liveable wage and requires someone to be on foodstamps is nothing more than a tax that everyone has to pay. The employer jips the workers and the result is that we all have to pour more money into the foodstamp program through taxes, which make the government a little bit bigger.MikeDamone said:
