Re: The program will take a step forward next year
If you fire Jedd now for 8-4, we're on our 5th HC in an 8 year span.
Call me old fashioned, but that's not a great look.

Just laffed I had missed Boblet's response. I don't think any identity or chest puffing is deserved as a fan related to the team you are a fan of. It has nothing to do with you. Enjoy the outcomes and journey and have fun but once you start to think you are tough, or a winner because of the team you're a fan of is you've lost the ball and are probably a fucking loser.
To be fair, I got the more I'm tough because of my team vibe from the Ohio State and Michigan fans so maybe it's a regional thing. The Duck fans are heavy on the millennial lost in the Taylor Swift style marketing scheme and buying 10 different jerseys and shoes and catch phrases and shit.

Re: 8-4
I think UW would beat USC because Lincoln Riley as as big a fraud as Fisch. USC lost to Illinois. That's almost as dumb as losing to Wisconsin.
But at least they beat Iowa.

6-6 is more realistic than 10-2.
Just saying.

Some on this board were saying it would be better to win the Holiday Bowl than make the playoffs and lose round one.

Yeah I still don't understand what was up Purdue's ass, but they wanted to rumble.

Re: The program will take a step forward next year
The point about Petersen is valid. He was 4-5 in the conference in Years 1 and 2 and blew a very winnable game against Oregon in 2015. I was hoping for a quicker turnaround but Pete had the resume to have some patience. I would have fired Pete after 2016 for anything less than 6-3 in the conference.
With Fisch heading into this season I think you would go with the following grading scale.
10-2 - A
9-3 - B
8-4 - C
7-5 - D
6-6 - F
You gotta fire Fisch for 6-6 in Year 2 and at 10-2, he's looking like the fucking Man. Instead, we're stuck him getting a C in year 2. I have significant concerns (50/50) that we'll end up needing to fire Jedd after next year. But it's reckless on so many levels to fire an 8-4 in year 2 guy. It's terrible optics for the program and the next guy could be fucking worse.

Re: Ramming It for Fruean
I think losing the LB coach late last year put UW behind in his recruitment. Good thing that UCLA died and there’s rumblings his other option, BYU, might be losing their coach. Luck of the Dawgs on this one.

Chippiest teams we played all year were Wisconsin and Purdue
