Crash is a bit hyperbolic since "renewables" are still a smaller portion of the grid.
Been harping on Chinese "software updates" forever. Anything that gets software/firmware updates out of China is vulnerable by design.
Glad to see the people in the rest of the infrastructure world catching up.
They've found the same shit in transformers we've installed. Buying from enemies is bad business.
The problem is that at times, solar and wind ramp up and produce all the power that places like California uses and has to offload that power to other areas and also not import coal and natural gas produced electricity from out of state suppliers and that has to be offloaded somewhere. This at times generates a negative electricity price in the wholesale markets in which producers pay buyers to take their electricity. These huge swings in consumption and power production make the grid vulnerable. Hence the recent nationwide outages in Spain and Portugal.
I’ve got news for everyone. China can take down our entire grid if they wanted. We could do the same.
If only we had some talent in the federal government that could counter this threat from our end. We didn’t lay them off did we??
I don' know seems like the smart kids had 4 years and 12 of the last 16 to fix this.
it seems to me though that if China crashed our grid, their biggest selling market goes POOF and maybe we send missiles into Beijing
What did we do about the chicom crud that the dems used to crash the economy? Right now we have every dem screaming about tariffs on Chinese goods and demanding we just continue to relax and enjoy the IP and strategic supply ass raping.
