So I woke up this morning

Then I thought about what I watched last night
Then I decided to pick some message bored fights on coaching, recruiting, and how do we find a way to beat Cal.
If we don't at least get as excited about branding and recruiting as Oregon does and we don't, how are we going to Dabo our way to the top? We have as good of a DC as Venables. I really believe this. But we're miles to go on offense both in coaching and players. I'll settle for a REAL O line for now.
The biggest disappointment in the 5 years so far is the inability to steal even one win or to show up ready to play every week or to have some sort of competent special teams
I do know it can change and we are recruiting better but it doesn't matter what we? think it matters what Petermen's bosses think
If you have a coach that can beat better teams before we are even in players you have an elite coach. Pete is a conundrum. I just hope he isn't Kirk Ferentz
That's how dark my mood is

That's some dark shit man.

Fuck off

He is Ferentz until proven otherwise... painful as it is to say

Heard today that Clemson has 5 people in the AD whose sole job it is to market the program and reach out to recruits via social media.
That is literally all they are paid to do all day, every day.
Did you hear their players recruiting kids at the post-game last night?

Don't worry, we? have that #GoDucks & #WarEagle girl workin for us. We? are in good shape.CaptainPJ said:Heard today that Clemson has 5 people in the AD whose sole job it is to market the program and reach out to recruits via social media.

But you do need bofe: recrooting and corching matter equally IMO. You can trickeration your way to a sneaky win in a bowl game against a better opponent who doesn't see you coming (hi Stoops!). But you can't do it in a real! conference consistently and you can't play with the juggernauts without the players. In the wise words of Jimmy Johnson on that 30/30 from Islamorada, "We were just so much better than everybody else."
PS: Congratulations for waking up this morning! -

Yup. I've been around a lot longer than you have Tonto. You'd do well to remember that.ApostleofGrief said:we?

Elite coaches should be able to get atleast one upset/surprise/big win in 5 years, even if they luck into it.
even with slightly deficient talent
Pete used to do it at Boise.
Here? Not so much.
UW will never have the institutional culture, structure or support that the schools in the South have created. NEVER.
The likelihood that UW will ever achieve a top 10 composite roster regularly better than Ohio State, Alabama, Georgia, FSU, USC, Clemson, LSU, Michigan, UT, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Florida, or Penn State is rather low.
It was always going to take top 5 coaching, mixed with top 15ish recruiting talent to win big at UW. It was always going to take a top tier coach overcoming a small as possible talent deficiency to win big, like BSU over Oregon or Oklahoma.
Recruiting matters, it matters a lot, there is room to improve, but the ceiling really isnt that far away.
Coaching matters, it matters a lot, so far Pete is miles away from what people thought his coaching ceiling was.
If Pete needs top 5-10 recruited talent on the roster to win a big game NOW then he is never going to win a big game and he's not an elite coach. No ammount of UW recruiting at its ceiling is going to change that. -

All that love had gone.
What? You lost to fuckin' Cal?!

Are their Twitter accounts blocked too? Do they feature hashtags from other schools?CaptainPJ said:Heard today that Clemson has 5 people in the AD whose sole job it is to market the program and reach out to recruits via social media.

Our driving Sark to his drug-induced meltdown was, at the time, a big upset. I’ll willing to give Peterman the benefit of the doubt on it being a Brownsocks limitation...but that excuse is now gone.Houhusky said:Elite coaches should be able to get atleast one upset/surprise/big win in 5 years, even if they luck into it.

On offense agree completely...the D looked like shit in the Rose Bowl but for the most part they have held up well in big games. I’m just hoping the offense is more a Brownsocks phenomenon than a team phenomenon.DerekJohnson said:
