There will always be looney toons representatives to the House from both sides of the Left and Right. It's usually not a big deal but when part of a party leadership gets taken down by the looney toons it's time to wonder what's up.
I think the Dems are facing an existential crisis. Are they the party of progressives or are they the party of neo-liberals?
Party splits are good for the other party. In this case the GOP.
