Capitalism hasn’t always existed and will not always exist and America did not begin with a capitalist economy. Those are facts. You’re mad about facts.

This is where we get into the weird worship of capitalism. It has to be unquestioned. We can’t even think about making our country better because we must worship at the alter of capitalism. As I’ve said before, it’s the best system we’ve come up with but not being open to it evolving into a better system is crazy. In 1899 Charles Duell of the US Patent Office said “everything that can be invented has been invented”. That’s what you’re doing here. That’s what you’re saying. Nothing could ever be better than what we have right now. All of human history tells us you’re wrong.

The term limits thing is just weird. You’ve picked up on one point and turned a 28 year old that was a bartender 5 minutes ago and old ass Bernie Sanders into Pinky and the Brain, hell bent on world domination.

Nice deflection and evasion. Why are socialists against term limits?
Why are Republicans against term limits?
Term limits have broad support. But for some reason the socialists don't like that idea. I wonder why. The Constitution needs to be amended to put term limits on Congress.
All the socialists in government are keeping us from establishing term limits!!1!

    Wait...

    HTFH.
It doesn’t because Bernie Sanders is 1 senator out of 100. The implication that he’s responsible for no term limits on congress is laughable.

Also, this is the critical issue of our time
The issue isn't current socialists holding up progress on term limits, it's socialist intentions once they get in power. Socialists don't support term limits. Are you disputing that?

A fucking socialist made a very strong showing in his party's nomination for president, and another socialist took down a major democrat figure. So yeah, it's an issue that deserves attention.

So why don't socialists support term limits? Lets see if you have the balls to answer a question the other tug socialists won't.
Name one member of Congress pushing a bill to enforce term limits. This is hardly some socialist conspiracy. But I wouldn’t expect a community college Duck fan to have a sense of the larger historical picture. For anything.

You're struggling with basic reading comprehension and common historical knowledge. You're incapable of defending your movement. And I haven't even really torn into it yet. I'm going to use your movement's own literature against you to expose its true nature. I'm going to run the ball down your throat. You will know its coming and you won't be able to stop it. Because you're simply not equipped to. You should go back to school instead of tangling with someone who has a higher IQ and more knowledge than you. Leave the heavy lifting to APAG.

Let me know when this high IQ person shows up. That might be interesting

Term limits are fucking retarded. If somebody is good at their job, and the voters want them there enough to re-elect them, then so be it. Second-term presidents are lame ducks because members of Congress know they'll be there after he/she's out. Why make last-term congressmen lame ducks too? The threat/prospect of re-election is an important element of politics.

We have regular elections. We can impose term limits on anybody whom we see as not up to the job, or there's somebody better. Competitive redistricting and campaign finance reform are much more effective ways of prompting legislators to behave better.

Hmmm. So you think the ones that win Congressional elections are the most talented ones? Are you now a parody account too? You should know that both parties require their elected Congress people to spend about 20 hours per week on the phones fund raising for the party and their own re-election campaign. You should also know that most of the bills that Congress people present to the floor were drafted by lobbyists that represent the ones that answered their phone and sent the money to the party. A House member, especially, is a lame duck as soon as they are elected.

Sad you don’t know how our legislative gears are greased.

Have any studies been done on whether term limits actually curb the abuses you perceive?

I mean, the president is subject to a term limit of eight years, and yet those dudes spend a boatload of their time raising money and servicing their financial supporters.

It's interesting how the socialists want to curb special interest money, but not their own power. Nah, not that. They need that to be unlimited for their agenda to work.

You need the power to exterminate people that disagree with you. Millions of dead people can't be wrong.

This movement is potentially closer to Nazism than these ignoramuses are probably aware of. Combining socialism with shit like 'racial justice' and 'white privilege,' radical elements of leftist thought, it would be a dictatorship of the 'oppressed victims' exacting their revenge on a country that was founded on racism and white privilege, according to the DSA socialists.
