Sark on social media(Month old)

"The majority of our players, if not all of them, have Twitter and Facebook accounts. And I am ‘friends’ with a majority of them," Sarkisian said following this morning’s practice for Saturday’s Pac-12 opener against Arizona. "And I encourage them to be ‘friends’ with me. If you don’t want to be ‘friends’ with me then you are probably putting stuff on there that your wouldn’t want me or your mom to see."
The coach says if they don’t “befriend me” on social media then he immediately wonders what’s going on.
"Why would you not want to be my ‘friend’?" Sarkisian said with a smile. "I’m a relatively cool guy. Every once in a while."
I'm seriously at lost for words on this whole deal. I know we beat this point home a lot on here but could you imagine any self respecting head coach having this type of article on them and providing the quotes that he provides?!
CHRIST!

When I read this article I can't stop thinking of this video.

I seriously cannot figure out words to describe my feelings on this;

Agree. Though we need to be able to put his face on fat Chandler.monroecougdad said:someone needs to fark in Sark's head in this pic:
Race?
Or perhaps fat Monica.

Awkward

He seems to want to be their friend before their coach. Maybe that's the problem. I liken it to society today; the parent (often the single mother since that seems to also be the norm now) wants to be friends with their child and parent to them second. It alters the dynamics, doesn't command the usual level of respect, and you'll see the child not take the parent as seriously. Pete Carroll got away with it at USC because he actually was a good coach. His coaching tree....not so much.
-
Pete Carroll was very into Twitter and making sure all of his players and recruits had it too.
-
I've actually heard Sark say these words.
Willingham was following his players on MySpace. Sark follows his players on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. -
Following your players a bit on social media---I've got no problem with that.CheersWestDawg said:I've actually heard Sark say these words.

But you follow in the same way that a parent follows their child.
A teacher monitors their students.
A coach should be concerned about their players.
But not to be their buddy.
It's to look out for their welfare and well-being.
Trying to be their buddy means an immediate loss of respect and credibility.
This has always been one of my concerns with Sark as a HC.
He just doesn't seem to understand he's the adult in the situation.
We need good decision-making adults leading the team and program.
Not a guy who thinks hitting the cross-bar makes you cool.
-
dude, brah
-
why won't you be my friend braaahhhhhhh?

It's no wonder the players talk shit behind his back.
On PAC-12 network they have a commercial featuring Erik Kohler and he was describing Sark.
"Off the field he's kind of a weird guy, he always coming up to us saying hey buddy".
I hope I can find that commercial clip it's gold. -

You can't expect to post well from your phone after 0-12 in THIS economy.

Coach first....friend twenty-ninth.

Bump

He's just trying to find the hot parties.

Good bump Damone.
It's still incredible to me the Doogs thought we were batshit crazy assholes for wanting him gone.
That we were shit fans for saying he's a bad coach. If anything the Doogs are the shit fans for putting their loyalties to the coach who proved to not be loyal to them over the school.
We were told there was no way we could find someone than Sark but we did.
These stories are real stories. These aren't HHB propaganda. This coach desperately wants to be accepted and therefore isn't a head coach in the process. -
Sark's not a god awful coach. He could probably last at Kal, Or St., WSU, or AZ for a while. Doogs deluded themselves into thinking he can do great things given *more time*
-
Disagree. Sark might do okay at AZ, but I think he would be fucking horrible at the other 3 drecky schoolsFire_Marshall_Bill said:Sark's not a god awful coach. Agree 100%. Not to mention he was very lucky to even be 34-29 at Washington considering he had a two year streak of never losing a game decided by 7 points or less.PostGameOrangeSlices said:

At those three schools it would be harder for him to recruit at so to overcome that you need a coach who can develop talent well, find diamonds in the rough well and simply out coach his opposition. Sark can't do any of those. -

I might be in the minority on this board, but I think Leach is a good coach; definitely in the top half of the conference, or at least at #6. His air raid attack and consistent coaching philosophy will net him 6-8 wins every year, which will make coogs ecstatic. In my mind, it takes an impressive coach to do that in Pullman. He definitely does fuck up on occasion, ala their bowl game against CSU. But still, he's better than 95% of the coaches they could get to sign a contract on the Palouse.
Riley is washed up. If he gets more than 7 wins in the Pac-12 again I will be surprised. The conference has gotten too competitive. Then again, people have probably been saying that about OSU since '01, and they've remained a competitive game on the schedule, for the most part (sans last years abortion)....
Cal fucking blows

not sure why you guys think he'd do well anywhere... he's an average coach with terrible habits and doesn't have the level of commitment to be successful in a highly competitive league. Sark should coach high school.
-
THIS. He's a fucking scrub. Lazy and mediocre. All hype and zero substance. Average recruiter, average play caller, below average game coach, below average talent developer, terrible CEO.Meek said:not sure why you guys think he'd do well anywhere... he's an average coach with terrible habits and doesn't have the level of commitment to be successful in a highly competitive league. USC will expose his faults and he'll never be a head coach again. I wouldn't even want him as my OC. -
I'd be fucking terrified if my daughter attended high school where Sark was the coach.Meek said:not sure why you guys think he'd do well anywhere... he's an average coach with terrible habits and doesn't have the level of commitment to be successful in a highly competitive league. He's okay. I wouldn't describe him as good. If you put him in the top 6 that means you're taking him over one of Graham, Rich Rod or Riley, which I just can't see.PostGameOrangeSlices said:
