I never thought I'd be playing devil's advocate for Donald Trump, but I can understand a parent wanting to defend their daughter. Harry Truman once threatened a reporter who had uncharitable things to say about his daughter's singing (I think she was trying to be an actress/opera singer). Then again, most parents aren't heads of state who have high profile Twitter accounts and Trump should be held to higher standard of decorum.
I don't think Nordstrom dropping the brand is politically motivated (though I'm sure they're loving the FREE PUB!). With a few exceptions, most celebrity branded retail lines have a short shelf life - I bet the sales would've dropped off even if Ivanka's father didn't run for president. -
