It isn't that anybody is specifically advocating that Strausser be fired or suggesting that his OL isn't playing well ...
The point is that so far the evidence is suggesting that Strausser is having a hard time CLOSING on the recruits he has targeted ... WHY???
BTW, the last time we saw this was at the WR position and Brett Pease ... make a change to #MyBush and we've arguably got our best WR recruiting class in years
Biggest difference here is that Pease was a shitty recruiter and coach ... at this point we can really only conclude that Strausser may very well be a shitty recruiter but is at worst an average OL coach ... that makes Pease vs Strausser a very apples and oranges difference
Jake Almighty.
The only reason anybody thinks that he's anywhere in the stratosphere of average is they act like nothing that happened at Boise counts. Yes, Pete and the boys needed to #ProveIt at the Pac12 level. If Strausser never produced a quality OL at UW we could write off Boise as a fluke.
But it's part of his body of work and now that he's had 2 1/2 years with his guys at UW he's getting results that look exactly like what he got at Boise.
Strausser's much more likely one of the top 10 OL in the country than he is average. He's above average at worst and fucking elite at best. And as much as I like NTD, BB'ing over sexy high school bois IDGAF if we don't get elite recruits if we have a coach who produces these results.
The day Strausser moves on for greener pastures will be a sad day for Washington. I'm going to enjoy having a damn good OL coach for once since I was a fucking preteen.
I should add that I do give a fuck about the future. And Strausser as our OL coach makes me feel better about the future than any OL commit ever could.

Goddamit, not this shit again.
You and roaddawg are just fucking wrong and Denny and I are right. It's great that Adolf Strausser is a great coach, but he's never going to reach the next level without consistently filling classes with "four stars" or "highly ranked recruits" or however you want to qualify it.

And so far, except for the 2014 class, the OLs they have signed carry a 3.5+ star average.

If my aunt had balls...
That doesn't even make sense.
If my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle, and if Strausser recruited good lineman not named Adams and McGary he'd be a good recruiter.

@dnc that's a real tl, dr post trying to take a shot at me when I never said anything bad about Strausser ...
All I said, and this was playing to both sides of the argument, was that for those that think that Strausser isn't a good OL coach, the worst you could say about him was that he's average.
I've definitely said on the pod, and pretty sure that I've said on this board, that while criticisms of OL recruiting to date would be fair, the development of the OL over the course of the year last year was very encouraging and that the OL performance this year would be a very critical observation level to assessing his performance. So far so good on that ... this weekend will really be a great data point as the OL's ability to control the LOS is a huge key to beating USC.

Sorry if it came across personal, just frustrated by the whole debate, didn't mean to take it out on you. Glad we agree on Strausser's coaching.

Sit him on your knee Race and teach him about all the times in Husky history that you were there. Mold him into a HHB.
