Husky Half Brains Episode 70

I think one of the more poignant plays (and a sad reality of what was to come) was the fumble rooski play on the final drive in Boise's redzone.TierbsHsotBoobs said:
I like to cite a loss against a shit MWC team as evidence of good coaching.Fire_Marshall_Bill said:Browning will be better than Conklin and just as good as Chandler.
This team is better coached. I saw it in the first half of the Boise CC game, especially on d. The play calling is the main issue right now.
I do that.
If I had to pick a theme of the HHB movement it would be "losers lose".
This was a perfect example where the coaching and play calling wasn't to blame, and a sign of the very hard mental shift that needs to take place at Washington to go from Losers to winners again.
They dialed up a play that saw their senior athletic "leader" Jaydon Mickens with the ball in his hands and 3 blockers in front with like 2 guys to beat to score a TD. Somehow he ends up getting tackled ( @GrundleStiltzkin i think you have a gif of this play). We've seen this shit time and time again. That same drive saw Dwash not make a 1 on 1 play with their safety and Lenius get shoved into a crabwalking Mickens on a bubble screen.
Of course we miss that field goal. Revisit that final drive at Boise and understand that if the new crop of Pete recruits dont understand how not to shrivel, we'll always be 7-6, 7-6, 8-5, 9-4, 7-6.... -
Talk trash about the Huskies and the HFP all you want but if we are going to bash Olympia, I am fuckin' out!TurdBuffer said:That was a good podcast. Really showed that less is often more.
RB made Olympia sound dank, depressing & miserable. I'll never see Olympia the same way again. Great political discussion. Insightful and prescient.
Race: "If you were a Martian" would make for a great segment. You and iDawg are spot-on. -
Our? punter is from Capital!!!!11!! What a cool year to be from Oly, man.
-
Just got done listening.
It was glorious. As great as the hot political talk was, Race's story of hitting rock bottom was spellbinding. Really compelling stuff. Good lessons for a wet behind the ears 38-year old fucktard like myself.
What a great week. Boobs and the HHB Podcast come back.
I might jerk off to Asian porn even more than usual this week. -

I listened.
Great intro music that translated into some sexual tension. Football talk was great. Already saw the post about plotting winning percentage vs. 1st rounders. The point about Peterman putting Browning in a position to lose and retaining Smith is really valid and the most important takeaway here. I think it was iDawg that said it, but all you old white guys sound the same to me. Chest and his metrics. We had a GREAT defense last year. They don't pass the eye test. Peterman could be the football Romar.
Thoroughly appreciated Race's "Tales from the Depression". As a child of the depression my experience was vastly different. It actually reminded me of my dad quite a bit, except he went through a divorce in the process. Spot on about appreciating life and being free from giving a fuck or being scared of failure. Once you turn it around you walk through life with brass balls and an iron will. Tac Town Tuff.
Got on the politics and PC culture talk now. Heard it all before. Trump is Hitler, etc.
Disappointed in the lack of SEC hot talk. I wonder if Race would be interested in being a guest on someone else's podcast. Say, @puppylove_sugarsteel -
That's 5% site owner plss to you.

If you were to compare the frequencies his voice to Chest it could be an advanced metrics argument that HFP is superior!CokeGreaterThanPepsi said:

Only thing I really disagreed with is the team looks great physically from what I've seen in pictures and in person.
The amount of lube I have gone through in the past 10 days would support that conclusion as well. -

The outpouring in this thread for Race "Oliver Twist" Bannon is possibly the gayest thing I've ever seen here. -

This is true. Over the years I've slowly dismantled my empire. huskyhalfbrains and gridironstats are now gone. Because of this, I no longer have any place to upload the shows. Derek was gracious enough to accommodate us by uploading it to his feed.haie said:

Banned in the UK! (The great Half Brain Purge of 2010 - should be required listening for all)

I don't believe they are lost. This is the internet age man. Hit up @NSA_Dawg or something.

Really.... That sucks. I wonder how many old episodes some of us have laying around on various devices. I have the 4 more years podcast, looks like from June 2011, downloaded on my work machine.iDawg said:

I meant that in the context of the podcast. I think the argument was that Peterman can win 8-9 games a year and be here for a long time because he doesn't like to move and our AD is cool with that.wobidbus said:

They are more than cool with that. As long as Peterman doesn't miss bowls in back to back years, he's here as long as he wants.PurpleJ said:

What happened to the offseason natty? Did reality set in that we will be picked 3rd or 4th in the North? -

Kicking down the Door was such a (temporarily) blissful podcast.
