By complaining like this, he thinks he's backing his team. That is true, however it hurts the team, because it builds in a excuse, and takes the focus away from what they did wrong (penalties, special teams, drops) and puts it on what Stanford did. How does this help them prepare for Oregon?
Interviewer: What did you think of the overturn call?
Sark: I'm always going to think it's a catch. I can only control my team though and that's what I tell my kids. We battled hard and just have to bounce back next week.
Interviewer: Hey coach what did you think about Stanford possibly faking injuries?
Sark: I can only speak for my team. We battled hard and will regroup for a tough game next week.
Those two answers is all he had to say. You don't want to be the quotable coach as that coach is often a loser. You want to be a Kelly, Belicheck, Saban type who gives boring answers. -
I'm sure it was real. It would be like us having Shaq faking an injury... Why do that with your best player?
They have been hurt, but not 2 to 3 minutes to give their defensive a breather hurt.

You know who won't fake an injury against us next year? Stanford.
All this media shit blows over in a day, but now Shaw knows that the media will fixate on this next year.
Same thing happened with Oregon. When teams got caught faking injuries, and embarrassed by the press, they stopped doing it.
Furthermore, IT'S THE ONLY WAY TO STOP IT. Since its totally legal to take a dive to stop the hurry up.
Sark also knows that future opponents will think about faking injuries. So this is a preemptive shot across the bow.
Fuck there are some whiney cunts on here. We're bitching because our coach is calling out Shaw for being a pussy and telling his players to fake being hurt? Christ. -
Yes Sark being a whinny cunt sure is looking good for our program right now.chrisvashon said:

Sark's program is already soft but now add whiny cunt to the list of problems. No you shut the fuck up and give some bull shit cliche answer.
Even with them faking injuries if you coached your special teams properly the Huskies fucking win the game. If ASJ makes that catch I bet the Huskies win the fucking game. Them faking injuries had nothing to do with it.
You also look dumb calling out a coach faking injuries when you have a coach on your staff who was very famous for doing that.
I disagree with your disagreement. -
I think its possible that its just the players and an instinctive move. At the end of a game like that guys probably have minor nicks and dings that hurt more when they are tired. I find it hard to believe the Stanford coaches will tell the players to fake injuries late in the game if they are tired...though we know Tosh did it.

Stanford does fake injuries with their best players, #44 is chase thomas

But here's the thing, our special team's fuckups cost us the game AND Shaw is a bitch who should be called out. Abundance.
Sark made his point and then shutup about it. I'm fine with it. -

Now the media has focused on this topic all day and you know it will go through tomorrow....not smart...taking a shot at hart just stupid.

I do like Chip saying "I'll bet you a thousand dollars he'll play next play. Just you watch!" -
Disagree. So what, Sark will get a couple questions about it. Other than that, what's the big deal other than Sark kind of comes off as a bitch? I think Shaw does as well.jecornel said:Now the media has focused on that all day and you know it will go through tomorrow....not smart...taking a shot at hart just stupid.

Agreed he was a popular long time coach at UW. A lot of former players loved him as a coach. Whether you or I think he's a bad coach or a good coach doesn't matter.jecornel said:Now the media has focused on that all day and you know it will go through tomorrow....not smart...taking a shot at hart just stupid.
The former players do think that. It's just another way of rubbing alumni the wrong way(Hi Kim!). -

I'm not a lip reader but I think he says, "I'll bet you a thousand bucks he comes back on the next play." Sure enough, he did. -
I didn't know Groz was allowed to bash an acting Seattle coach? If I remember right he's on Romar's nuts and was also a Ty fan.jecornel said:

For exactly this reason (why would they do that!?)... also, Skov is a smart player who knows how to pull it off.DerekJohnson said:

Shaw came out like smelling roses... called out tosh and shaw didn't start it...every local station has talked about it all morning and day the topic should be Oregon not a coaches fued

Did they use the magic soccer spray? It's the only explanation of how they left the game in agony and came back one play later.brchco12 said:
Gardner was only out 1 play as well, and they were both doing the soccer injury roll. Honestly this is the best compliment of our offense I've seen this year, never thought we'd be this oregonesque. -

I pray 5 times each day to Allah that you are correct.He_Needs_More_Time said:I agree with dhdawg I think they were faking injuries.
However, as a head coach you never ever say that to the media. That tells me Sark doesn't plan on sticking around for very long since he's not afraid to piss a coach off in his own conference. -
No, I don't listen to the Seattle media ever. I still don't think it's that big of a deal. The sotry will come and go, and the topic will go back to the Oreogn game by Thursday.jecornel said:

1080 the fan in Portland just spent a big segment on this.
It's also on front page of Espn.com so yea Sark made UW look bad once again. -
this is a non-story... until the NCAA can actually do something about perceived fake injuries any coach worth his salt as a game manager is absolutely encouraged to do this kind of thing. a coach has to take control of the game and why shouldn't he? high level football should be more strategic than simply who can have their team remember the most plays in a row.
the Pac12 officials are what Scott should be addressing instead of spending all his time reviewing ad creative for bashing Directv. -
Sark saying that in the game to an official..........Fine!! But don't be a cry baby about it to the media!!!He_Needs_More_Time said:

The solid verbal podcast led by ex-Oregon guy (Beer Shoers will remember him) concluded that after the game UW came out looking great but Sark came out looking bad.
