VAdawg, my contention is Sirmon & Tosh are big-time recruiters but going 7-6 three years in a row is holding them back. Recruits aren't stupid. They see that Sark is a mediocre coach who only has credibility as an OC and QB coach.

In regards to the OL, which offense would you rather block for? Sarks? Look at Oregon, Stanford and Arizona (Rich Rod). Plus USC and UCLA are always competition. Sark is why we can't recruit O-lineman. But I guess after this season we can hire a big-time OL coach/recruiter to replace Cozetto since its never Sark's fault.

"Great Class" doesn't describe this past class. It's a good class, especially for the DL. But it could have been much better, if Sark and Co could have closed properly. But most importantly, we came away with one of the top WR classes, but a below avg. OL class....similar to RN's tactical recruiting. Where did that get us?

Sark and Co., are OK recruiters. But they continue to fail on the OL! A program CANNOT become elite without an above average/good OL......period. We don't come close to avg., let alone above avg.....and Good, is so fucking far away...it's disgusting.

Based on his work at Cal and UW, I think Tosh recruits a bunch of highly rated All-Airport pussies.

Wilcox, Sirmon, and Tosh all chose to work for Sark. How good can they be?

Wilcox is damn good. He turned around the UW defensive with a quickness. He chose to work for a coach with great job security that would give him enough time to show what he can do and get promoted to an HC position.

He knew what he was doing. Didn't hurt that UW likes to pay its coordinators more than anyone else will.

Don't forget that Wilcox and Sirmon didn't exactly have job security at Tennessee knowing Dooley would be gone in less than a year. Go to a school where they can get a huge paycheck and basically start with the bar at 0.

And therein lies the problem. It's never Sark's fault. It wasn't his fault that he hired nick holt, mike cox, and the other defensive failures of his first staff.

It wasn't his fault that he keeps cozzetto around or that his O-line recruiting classes are near the bottom of the conference.

And now he's got dawgman.com defending him, and ensuring that there is no forum for fans to voice their frustrations. Pretty sickening.

A big part of the problem was hiring an OC with no coaching tree. It seemed like Sark basically had to beg Holt to come here. We all hoped Sark would be able to surround himself with quality coaches that would address his deficiencies and allow him to mature as the head man, but what kind of quality supporting cast can you assemble as an unproven boss?
