Pac-12 All-Century team

How can the likes of Ron Holmes and Chuck Nelson be left off the team?
-
Travis Hanson > Jason Hanson
-
Almost all those guys are last century. Sad to see how far the Pac 12 has fallen
-
No Jake Locker?!?!?!
-
Elway's just holding the spot for Browning
-
I thought there was no record of Reggie Bush actually playing in any gaymes?
-
Did Elway ever go to a bowl game? I think his NFL career is clouding his college career.
-
The Play in 1982 kept him from getting into some minor bowl (Garden State?) his senior year, and his last opportunity. He whined about it afterwards. His own fault for calling time out with eight seconds left, instead of four. At the time, he did hold a lot of conference passing records, IIRC; a great college QB on a mediocre team.gabemarksknee said:Did Elway ever go to a bowl game? Superb Owl five tims. But none as a collegian.gabemarksknee said:Did Elway ever go to a bowl game? I think his NFL career is clouding his college career.

Who's coaching the all century team?
-
Teddy Bruschi was a guy I felt like didn't really belong. But whatever, he was good.DerekJohnson said:How can the likes of Ron Holmes and Chuck Nelson be left off the team?
Mostly, you can't really argue with these guys. They are all fucking good. -

Elway beat the #1 ranked Huskies and singlehandedly beat Oklahoma.
But Stanford sucked and there weren't 87 bowls -

And he was the QB for quite a few losses...RaceBannon said:Elway beat the #1 ranked Huskies and singlehandedly beat Oklahoma.

Stanford's record with Elway as starting QB was:
6-5 (3-4 conf)
4-7 (4-4 conf)
5-6 (3-5 conf)
Win or GTFO. Nothing else matters. Right? -

OK, Elway played a couple of really good games, but his team sucked and the opportunity for bowl games was less than today. All of that is true. But playing a couple of really good games in a 3 year career with a 15-18 record is not worthy of All Century Team. Clearly he's on the list based on his pro career.RaceBannon said:

Elway may not even be the greatest QB at his own school. Jim Plunkett was a beast.
Moon should get some props if pro career is factored in.

Arizona has the 2nd most players on the entire list with 5 AND THEY HAVE NEVER PLAYED IN THE FUCKING ROSE BOWL!
Nuffsed on that. -
5 ? I see 2. Am I missing something?digits said:Arizona has the 2nd most players with 5 AND THEY HAVE NEVER PLAYED IN THE FUCKING ROSE BOWL!

Fuck this list.
-
Tony Gonzalez is absolutely on this last based on what he did in the NFL. I can name a half dozen Hairball-recruited furd TEs who have had better college careers than Tony G. Well, actually I can't name them, I just know they're big, white, and ugly.
Also a crime that Chuck Muncie didn't make the list. -
No I-never-lost-a-game-12-0-motherfucker BJ Hobert on a list that includes Mariota instead?
This conference makes my ass ache.
-
How many Heismans did Billy Joe Camaro haul back to Seattle?
That's what I thought.
Also too, the list kinda sucks. From an Oregon perspective, no Norm Van Brocklin or Bobby Moore seems dumb.
We should also get some credit for John McKay, since he went to school and learned how to coach in Eugene. We just couldn't afford the athletes back then.
-
BJ never brought home a loss, either. He did bring home a crystal football, so ask Marcus about that.AZDuck said:How many Heismans did Billy Joe Camaro haul back to Seattle?

No Dillon, no Hoffman, no Bueno.
