When I watch the replays, Milloy stands out! A RB will break for an 8 yard run and Milloy destroys him. He was incredible.Doogles said:Milloy should have had a sniff at safety. He was an all-American and his pro career legitimized him as the real deal

Loved the neck roll plus cut off jersey combo. Must have made QBs and RBs shit their pants. The goaline tackle for loss in the whammy in Miami is one of the baddest individual efforts in a big time moment.RoadDawg55 said:

There are multiple members of the 1991 team that say Shane Pahukoa was a far better college safety than Milloy.Doogles said:Milloy should have had a sniff at safety. He was an all-American and his pro career legitimized him as the real deal

I was only 4 in 91, but I watched "The Perfect Season" on video cassette tape about 8100 times in my life and agree he was one heck of a player. My dad talked about him, the Hoffman brothers, and Emtman like they were demi-gods.DerekJohnson said:

However, I'm sure there is bias involved in the 91 guys eyes(their guy vs. the young stud replacement) and I would take Milloy.
Then again, their eyes are better than mine. -
I can see arguing he was on the same level, but far better? That's just teammates taking up for their guy, no way that has any credibility. Milloy was the shit.DerekJohnson said:

A great college QB on a shit team w/o him.BearsWiin said:
The Play in 1982 kept him from getting into some minor bowl (Garden State?) his senior year, and his last opportunity. He whined about it afterwards. His own fault for calling time out with eight seconds left, instead of four. At the time, he did hold a lot of conference passing records, IIRC; a great college QB on a mediocre team.gabemarksknee said:Did Elway ever go to a bowl game? I think his NFL career is clouding his college career.
He was the team. He had role players like Darrin Nelson, but Marino had Mark Clayton, and nobody cares about that either.
Elway was awesome in college. I'd like to go there with you, but I was paying attention by then and remember. There was a reason he went #1 in a class with Jim Kelly, Dan Marino and a few others. -
Uh, I don't think so. Dude was a fucking force and an anchor on one of the best NFL D's ever.WeAreAFatLesboSchool said:Ngata? Ngata please.
Your duck hate is clouding your judgment. -
The only guy I take issue with is Bruschi. To me, THAT is a guy whose success in the pros, bolstered a lot by the pros he played with, is getting him on. He was a good college player, no doubt, but I think there have been others in the Pac who can more legitimately claim that other DE spot. Suggs w/o question gets one. I'd put Andre Carter up there over Bruschi as a real DE.
What a great fucking tandem of safeties though, huh? Easley and Lott. Those were the guys I pretended to be as a kid. Just fucking awesome. Easley was my person fav, and I've never been a Hawks fan. -
No shit. Seriously.dnc said:

Eh, I'm usually with you on most things, but not this one.dflea said:No I-never-lost-a-game-12-0-motherfucker BJ Hobert on a list that includes Mariota instead?
This conference makes my ass ache.
First, all men with two first names are hill billy fags from West Virginia. Period.
Second, it's not like those Washington teams needed him. We? They? You? go 12-0 with you and me rotating under center. True story. Remember, fucker wasn't even supposed to start that year.
Third, I don't remember a lot of heroic moments from BJ during '91. He was a good player with a lively arm, but he was as much a caretaker as a star.
Mariotta, while not exactly playing for shit teams either, was THE fucking show. In terms of brass balls, while Billy Joe was irreverent with his mouth, Mariotta did it on the field.
I'd take Mariotta over Hobert 7 days a week.
