But how's the sexual tension?HeretoBeatmyChest said:RoadDawg and Little Jimmy Cornell answer strong questions and point blank say Pete will never win, even a division championship while at UW. Chest (I like to call myself that) breaks ranks and argues the other side. It gets heated but not personal.

Listened for the first time. Chest, brother, take a vally.
-
Great rant by chest. The offense sucks balls though. They still have yet to put up three offensive touchdowns in a conference game. Oregon and cal have horrible defenses and we didn't do shit vs them. Play calling is not the problem, offensive identity is the issue and we still do not have one.
Lil jimmy and roadie are right. the PAC 12 sucks this year and the offense has not improved or been close to average and our team sucks. We didn't have to win the north but losing to cal and Oregon because our offense can't do anything well is pretty fucking pathetic. -
that was a tough listen.
you guys have a tough job, arguing about the same shit over and over again has to get old.
I do agree with Chest that just running the ball more isn't going to fix things when you still can't complete passes -
I don't get it.
I simply can't believe that Pete could have forgotten so much about coaching to have an offense this bad. Yet week after week we see this shit on the field. -
-
The offense pisses me off to no end, it's killing the team, I agree with the millennial fucks on that, but Chest makes a number of good points.
It is only a year and a half into the Peterman era, and he did inherit a mess at a number of key positions on offense. Sark failed to restock the cupboards with guys like Price, Sankey, Kearse, and ASJ, let alone pay any attention to recruiting the O-line. As a result, Peterman has been forced to start true freshman at an unusually high number of positions, particularly along the O-Line. We'll know for sure whether or not youth is an excuse or an explanation for the current dreck on offense going forward, but Babushka is doing the youth no favors. He risks trashing their confidence by not making it easier for them to build on smaller successes, and is putting way too much pressure on the defense to bail him out. I firmly believe he has to go and could be Pete's downfall in the end. They really need an OC and position coaches, particularly at QB, who are capable of developing players and scheming to maximize the talent they have on hand, and I know, water is wet. Anyway, I've seen neither happen on offense over the past year and a half. Chest may be right, they may start to execute at a higher level and things may get better as they gain experience, but it doesn't look good for the offense right now.
On the flip side there has been real development of the defense and special teams while at the same time losing some serious talent to the NFL. Objectively, there is tangible progress being made in these areas despite taking serious hits in talent and experience. The team hasn't seen a good ole fashioned Sark style multi-stacked dry plungering yet. The team is showing real fight and playing to the end of the game. Tangible progress in team culture is being made and this may be the most important higher level objective.
To end this @Tequilla tl;dr poast, I really thought @HeretoBeatmyChest made some solid points. This is a total rebuilding year, progress is being made, there may be valid reasons for the dreck on offense, and in the end, it is reasonable to wait to see what happens in year three before going all Vlad the Impaler, but damn is it ever frustrating to be a Husky Fan. This shit seems never ending, a veritable cornucopia of dreck. They should beat Arizona this week, but I think it takes a brave soul to predict that, and that is telling. -
Free Pub !
And I'm gonna take you up on that beer, @RoadDawg55, if you ever slum it over here in the desert. -
Once again, thanks to all 3 of you for putting in the time.

Agree - good job guysHuskyInAZ said:Once again, thanks to all 3 of you for putting in the time.

I could see both sides of the argument. Chest hasn't been that heated since Sark was fucking things up. Good points by all.
-
Got an advance draft from Chest of the article he mentioned to be working on for the site

Lost to Boise because of the offense too. That's three games down the crapper due to the offense's ineptitude. That's sucking grandpa balls.AtomicDawg said:Great rant by chest. I agree that the lack of plunger related ass bleeding has been refreshing but to actually have a defense that can stop someone and to watch the AIDS related death performances of the offense week in and week out has been beyond maddening. Its the anti Sark/Holt version of football. Closer to what I want from a team but still enough to make me want to take a toaster bath.
-
Road said something that really fucking depressed me. If Peterfuck wins 7-8 games a year, most years, he is here as long as he wants to be. My money is right there with Road. How fucking sad is that? This motherfucker will just keep us in the shit tier 5th or 6th Pac-12 seeded bowel every year (except this year) and basically stay for a decade. Maybe throw one 9 game win year and a Holiday bowl in there with a second place finish in the North.
Fuck. It's over. -
Haven't listened to it yet, but just want to thank you guys for continuing to do the podcast. I get how repetitive it can be, but quite honestly you guys are needed in my huskie football life.
Shout out for also having the guts to say what you think Petersen is going to do going forward.
Can't wait to listen. -
I understand that the team is young and Petersen hasn't been around at UW much, but that doesn't excuse his horrible in game coaching at times (which is my biggest problem with him). Whether the team is full of seniors or not, punting on 4th and 1 at the Oregon 39 and eating 7 minutes of clock on a late drive down by 14 is inexcusable.
I've watched enough football to know that coaching scared and not to lose isn't because the team is young, it's a huge flaw with the coach and Petersen definitely has that flaw. That's why I dislike him so much.
-
Quote of the Week. 29:00 mark.
"People are just, completely, fucking overreacting, like I'm overreacting now!" @HeretoBeatmyChest
Roady was heated and passionate in the beginning when Chest wanted answers. Then Chest, well, he took over. He was sick of Roady and Cornell talking over him. He was like, I'm taking the ball and running it down your fucking throats. That was fucking awesome. That's passion for your team. And they did all of this without getting into a personal bitchfest. Good shit guys.
I must say that you 3 work really well together. I look forward to the pod every week. I wish you had at least one additional episode each week. I could listen everyday. -
He didn't forget. He just had success doing something, but now he's not, and he hasn't shown any sign of adapting and changing. He's going to live or die by his system. I don't think he believes the system is the problem.ScarfTardFTW said:I don't get it.

I agree the bar is fairly low, but Petersen wants to prove something. I never bought that he's burned out.Swaye said:Road said something that really fucking depressed me. Puppy knows more about football than people give him credit for. For example: he called out the bullshit SEC vast superiority in 2013 (along with FM Bill - it's fun to do the third person thing).
-
You guys should do a Seahawk podcast. I know you talk about them sometimes. Maybe dumb it down a little for all the 12s from Everett and Spanaway. Don't use too many four syllable words.
-
Did anyone else get wood from 25:00 on when Chest went crazy?
I'm not ashamed to admit I could have pole vaulted a Dixie cup. -
UW has finished in the top half of the Pac-12 once in the past 14 years according to SRS. UW is currently 6th in the conference. If it finishes there then it will have done something its only done once in the past 14 years during a major rebuilding year and what most observers felt would be Pete's worst or most difficult year. While the Pac-12 is much worse than it was just a few years ago, this is still an important development.Swaye said:Road said something that really fucking depressed me. If you don't understand the importance of the metrics then you are selling yourself short as a knowledgeable observer/fan. (Kind way of saying you are a fucking clown). People here were happy to use the metrics argument when it proved that Sark's teams were worse than their record indicated. Now its the opposite and people want to dismiss it. The power programs (USC, Ohio St, Oklahoma, Florida) almost never fall below #40. Its another reason why they can be fully rebuilt within two years as opposed to everywhere else where it takes 3-4 years.
Bottom line, as a rebuilding year this will be deemed successful. It's reasonable to say you have concerns about year 3/4 but when properly evaluated in the proper context, this year will be successful.
Most people here completely misunderstand the effect of coaches. Its not game to game or week to week. Their biggest impact does not come in a linear fashion or game to game. For most coaches it is not fully realized until after a few years. So far with Pete, the positives far outweigh the negatives or the one giant negative. The offense will naturally improve as it gets more experience, but the real debate should be will it be good enough to lead UW to win the conference. That is truly uncertain. If they can fix the offense they will be really successful the next few years. If not they will likely win 8/9 games and not be as good as they could be. (Yes fuckos, if they can win 6-7 with a super young team, they will win a few more with experience).
We are in very good shape right now with Pete relative to the rest of the conference. He will be here a long time and that is a good thing. Most Pac12 schools are going to have major coaching turnover over the next few years when the fruits of Pete's early work will be seen. He came here to challenge himself and win championships, not coast to a big salary and quasi retirement. -
I just want to point out one thing. You don't call a fucking bubble screen, it's put in as one read on a play depending on how the secondary is playing. Because the offense sucks so much dick opposing defenses can play straight up, don't have to respect the deep ball or the run. So when the qb sees that it's "open" he throws it out there to Mickens, the other receivers fuck up their blocks, and it's the usual 2 yard gain.
-
This podcast is a turd. It's three guys that all kind of know what they are talking about.
The Husky Halfbrain podcast has Race who kind of knew what he was talking about and RIP @iDawg who was a complete fucktard. That was funny. -

Great stuff guys, thanks for putting in the time.
As some may already know, I'm more with Chest.
At least we can be happy that the weather will probably force JS' hand in staying with the running game this Saturday night. Regardless, I have no doubt that Petersen will make a change at OC if JS doesn't step it up.HeretoBeatmyChest said:

That's what them quotation marks are for. Note to the Doogs, I'm not excusing the bubble, I'm asking why they don't put in a different constraint play if it's obviously not going to work. Go read the smart football dude about the power run game, it's a good review of what Smiff isn't fucking doing.RaceBannon said:

Good poadcast. Great sexual tension. My favorite part was Jimmy's "I want to go to bed" just before the 46' minute mark.
I agree partly with Chest that there may be some future improvement, and we've seen some positives, but the bottom line is they've played like a bunch of fucking losers, and there is no sign that they will start playing like winners.
So even if there is some small improvement, it won't be enough to actually win anything. There just isn't any evidence that this program going anywhere. Roadee and Jimee are on point.
