Offensive linemen that play as true freshman seem to always get hurt and have chronic injuries afterward. Porter and Koehler come to mind. Brostek was another one that was hurt and albeit mismanaged.

If Adams is physically ready to take on the role then great. If not just redshirt him. Tsio anyways. 2040 will be special.

Oh no! We'll be missing a guy who sucks!!! What will we do?!?

Though, I think this burns Adams' redshirt.

Whoever was behind him sucks more.

    Adams will start by midseason.

I hope not. Starting frosh OL at the line rarely, rarely ends well.
At UW that is true. I'm not sure about other places. I can think of quite a few OL that played at true freshman that turned out fine. Most of those guys were 5 star recruits, but if Adams is in the two deeps he probably plays.

I'd say it's the easiest for OGs to step in and play.

Winston Justice started about a decade ago for USC as a true frosh OT and did well enough.

OT Tyrell Crosby for Oregon got some PT and maybe even started a few games and did ok.

USC started 3 frosh OL last year but 2 of them were OGs.

My biggest concern is injury over performance when true frosh usually have to go against guys who are a few years older than them and thus have spent multiple years in a CFB weight training program to handle the rigors of starting / playing a lot of plays.

You usually will see the talent come out with running blocking pretty quickly, but yeah usually lots of pass pro breakdowns.

Good point, another reason why it's easier for true frosh OGs to play than OTs.

We running option this year. No need for pass protection.

    Huh?
A team that actually plays (and looks like, with the uniforms) like WASHINGTON, damnit? Feels like a world ago.
That's because half of this board wasn't born yet

I actually saw the news a few hours ago but forgot because I immediately started drinking when I got home at 4:45 (I sort of remember seeing an OL retired, barely).

Oh well comes to mind as a reaction

I would love to run the triple option with a Lindquist or KJCS, at least as a branch of the offense, but who would be the FB? Coleman?

That Beaver team was a top 5 Fiesta Bowl winner. I was at that game, incredible stuff...a really underrated game.

I'd actually been hoping Dexter would quit like the bitch he is for a while. He sucks.

I understand the guys behind him suck worse or whatever, but Charles is a fag on so many levels, it's really better to just get it over with and move on.

Are you saying that Tui had to beat a ranked Oregon State?

    Poor bastard.
Then, three days before Washington announced his sudden retirement, Charles felt particular discomfort in his knee during UW’s practice at the Seahawks’ training facility last Friday. “I took my knee brace off,” he said, “and it was a little different than before. It starting hurting worse.”

He had his knee drained in an attempt to reduce swelling, with no success. An MRI then revealed the extent of the damage: He would need another surgery, this time a complete reconstruction of the knee. His football career was over.
