One thing I’d be curious to see is what a shift to eating a higher percentage of goat meat looks like in the US.
Healthier red meat, feed off of a wider variety of plants, tastes quite good. But we don’t have the supply chain to bring much to market on any kind of scale right now. I can find it in the ethnic grocery store and on the menu in certain restaurants but not widespread at all.
For the past discussion on berries and their high glycemic index, my observation from this morning of eating 6oz of blackberries was less blood sugar spike than a banana. Would probably call a third less. Roughly.
I eat berries and cherries like my life depends on it while in season. We grow strawberries and in a good year we'll brave the bugs and harvest 5 or 10 gallons of wild huckleberries. I buy cherries.
I've never seen a big effect on my blood sugar unless I mix them with ice cream or sweetened yogurt and granola. I feel like the seasonal increase in natural sugar in my system is made up for by the many other health and taste related benefits.

It’s like the live of the grid, homesteader, insta peeps. Cool, but that’s a pretty niche hobby.

I've previously understood blue berries to be low glycemic load. Just wasn't sure how much them getting blended affects things.
In honor of our new MAKE AMERICA HEALTHY AGAIN era, I pulled 3 x 2000 Meters this AM. 2 mins rest. 20 s/m.
