But you understand the intent of the original ruling, how it had nothing to do with crosses, how they revised their ruling to allow religious symbols, how people legally marched with crosses, and how this tweet mis-characterizes all of that and creates a narrative in a couple words. And then it gets amplified. One thing leads to another and people across the world think CDA banned crosses and the citizens are therefore revolting by carrying crosses. JFC. This culture war Twitter shit is cancer.
Not at all. I'm stoked you got to carry crosses through a Independence Day parade. Doesn't really make sense, but I'm glad you were able to. It's also a good thing the symbology the ruling was intended for wasn't allowed. All of these things are fair. The mis-characterization about what happened is not. Go ahead and run with it though, Idaho boys.
Fern, I linked an article. No flags or religious symbols. Pretty fucking un-American. This is America! We like our religion and our flags. We don't like sexual deviance. criminals or communists.
You posted an editorial from a religious non-profit written before the religious symbol exemption, without the proper context. Flags were never banned, for one, you are well aware of what the overall intent was, and common sense won out. Religious symbols were allowed, and American flags were allowed, just as they always were.
If you wanted to argue that the original ruling was ignorant and short sighted with regard to religious symbols, then I might even agree with you.
It's characterizing yesterday's march as having a ban on crosses and flags that is retarded. That just wasn't the case. The tweet, the reason I'm even saying anything, is cancerous culture war nonsense. This is exactly how social media creates and perpetuates victimhood narratives to rile up the base. You're not a victim, Sled. Try not acting like one for once.
So, it was the policy and the secular fascists in CDA reversed it two days before the event due to public pressure
Why were they banned in the first place and why reverse it? Your side is dead against populist movements and actions these days. The City Council are the elected experts and know better than mere citizens.
Under parade regulations adopted by the chamber board this year, “Symbols associated with specific political movements, religions, or ideologies” were unacceptable.
Coppess wrote that in the past, the chamber received numerous complaints about displays that people found offensive, including “Confederate flags, derogatory illustrations, harsh politically-based language, and graphic photographs.”
Coppess wrote that last year alone, she received over 50 complaints about different signage and symbols that were deemed offensive.
It's Northern Idaho, Chris. You know exactly what the intent was. Yes, they should have been more clear originally. Public pressure came, the city council clarified, and common sense won out. It's far from the attack on Christianity (and American flags?) this narrative wants people to believe. It's dumb.
Well yes, I'm an atheist and find the conflation and co-opting of "the flag and the cross" to be gross at best, especially on a day to celebrate independence from a nation who was/is also Christian. It doesn't make sense. Can't we just rock and celebrate 🇺🇲 together as Americans without religion and partisanship? The cross has nothing to do with our independence. So yeah, I threw a subtle jab, but it doesn't mean I think Sled or anyone else shouldn't have the right to carry a cross. Everything worked out here as it should even though I think "the flag and the cross" shit to be dumb, ignorant, and sinister in a lot of ways. That's a whole other can of worms though.
If the Tug can dish, it can't get offended when it takes every now and again.

Yeah, that’s went over like a fart in church.
These “new” CDA council people are going to find out real fast what fuck around and find out means.
People take their guns and religion serious in the 208

I live here dipshit. And have my entire life.
Fuck off.
Fern will tell us how to think and do. He knows best.
I know you live there. I also know what social media fueled culture war disinformation is taking place about it. God bless America.

I was on a motorcycle ride Fern. Carrying crosses and matching for God and good is something I can support. Not pride flags and BLM twits.
They banned them. Then lifted the ban after lots of push back. https://idahofamily.org/alert-local-parade-bans-crosses/
No need to convince me that you were on a July 4th motorcycle ride brandishing crosses in the name of America. I'd be surprised if you weren't tbh.
Christians are a real threat. I'm hearing that CDA has no go zones like Detroit and Minneapolis at this point.
Cda was a shitshow tonight.... but in a good way....
Did he just say crosses 4 times, church, and religious symbols in his post and then cap it all off with a JFC blasphemy?
Fun Fact..
Cour de laine means "Heart of an awl"
🤔
The name was given by the french because the Cour de laine tribe were tough negotiators when trading.
Today Coeur d’Alene means big ass casino printing money and buy our fireworks and cheap smokes, white man.

Ern, N Idaho expert.
Now do Hayden Lake as the center of the white supremacist movement. Include pictures of the bustling compound.
You phrase that as if it's an insult.
