If UW wins out and losses to 12-1 Oregon in the championship, UW will have the better SOR

UW's other wins are 6-3 Arizona, MSU, Boise, and Tulsa

Oregon's other wins are 4-5 CU, TTech, Hawaii, and Portland State

CFP Committee is favoring resume over eye test

But they favor conference championships too.

It will depend some on how things shape out the next few weeks but they'd be more likely to take Oregon over us in that event even with our superior resume. Committee is clearly not impressed with UW so far.

Dawgs 15-0 national champs. Media runs articles calling us the least impressive undefeated team ever and we finish #2 in the AP poll.

Oregon is voted AP #1 after defeating Texas in the Cotton Bowl to finish 12-2. Quooks everywhere decide that voting a champion is superior to winning on the field. They are the "more complete team" after all.
    This would be hilarious.

If UW can get Jalen healthy I'll take us to beat Oregon in the rematch rather easily. We'll have a shot even without him.

If the committee favored resume, UW would be in the top 4. Michigan has beaten absolutely nobody, they're pure eye test. OSU's resume is wins over a mediocre Notre Dame team and PSU, which has beaten nobody. The committee chairman even said out loud that UW's weak performances against Stanford and ASU are what held them back at 5 (eye test again). The only reason Oregon is behind UW is head to head result. If Oregon beats UW in the championship game the committee will no longer have that obvious hurdle and Oregon goes to CFP and UW goes to NY6.

I still think UW will win the rematch, because somehow they keep figuring out how to win games they have plenty of opportunities to lose.
Dutchman does not have a tight asshole when things get tough. Dude just loosens up more and wins

You all are way more optimistic about beating Oregon. I give us like a 25% chance if it's us or them for the CFP.

UW beats Utah, Beav (scary close) and WSU. Thus UW completes only the second 9-0 conference season ever in Pac12 history. DoogItUp.gif

Butt UW goes on to lose the Conference Title game rematch to Oregon thus ensuring UW is screwed by Kliavkoff's division elimination in both 2022 and 2023, which were of course the only years in which the divisions didn't exist (though inexplicably division scheduling still did)

Oregon makes the playoff, One loss UW who finished the regular season 12-0 goes NY6.

    Fuck the Pac12 forever.

I seem to recall people being happy that the divisions were eliminated because the South was shit for so long and nobody wanted 8 - 4 UCLA teams in the CCG.
    This^

All conferences have either killed or will kill divisions. The P12 was actually proactive in this regard, one of the few decisions that wasn't phucktarded.

The whining going on here about no divisions is doogish and smacks of Caleb Williams-level crying to mommy.

If UW is the best team, then beat the next best team on a neutral field or STFU. It might not even be Oregon....

its all true except that teams are normally just a couple of injuries away from having their season unravel, and the Dawgs have been thru that already and are getting healthier down the stretch and finish the pac12 undefeated winning the ccg rather easily.

I've been wondering about this. I haven't paid too much attention to our? injury situation. Who has been out that is now getting back onto the field? Mele is out for the year and J Mac is still out.

The problem as I have said is that they got rid of divisions but kept division schedules. This is absolutely fucktarded and completely indefensible.
That's fair. Some of that will happen in the B1G bc of historic rivalries. For example, see UW-boodger's schedule next year. All the corn schools and no UM nor OSU. Ridiculously easy schedule.

If we can't beat OU in the Conference Championship Game, then we aren't a Top 4 squad.

It will all sort itself out.

What if OU is top 2? In the end, UW's offense is amazing but cannot carry the D against these top 4 teams so I think you're right.

I think they'll be close to identical. Strength of record and SOS are different. Oregon will have wins over UW on neutral field on last game of season, USC, OSU, and @Utah (which is looking like the best road win in the league now) and a 3pt loss on the road to UW in a game everyone saw.

The UA game ends up being an unexpected plus to UW's resume but in the end I think it's a wash given @USC may end up with 5 or 6 losses.

Oregon will have to look like total shit in the next 3 games and barely beat UW in the CCG for it to be close.

The CCG is the deciding factor if UW and UO end up with identical records. UW could still make it with a loss before the CCG and a win over UO, but they'll have to look damn good down the stretch.

I get the wanting to not have crappy teams from one division in but the problem still has been that the conference plays divisional schedules so it's dumb to have a championship feeder format that isn't based on division. It's why last year you had USC in who almost assuredly got in because they didn't have play Oregon and UW and you have Utah in who only played Oregon, lost in Eugene a week after UW won in Eugene.

What's gonna happen this year is the conference is gonna have UW come in undefeated and Oregon with one loss and it's set up to where UW and Oregon get into the CFP had the championship game been North vs South (and UW wins) but instead the Pac-12 makes them play each other again where the loser is out instead of just setting up a major favorite game for your conference's top team. The SEC has feasted on this in the CFP era. The Big 10 benefitted last year as Michigan and Ohio State having to play each other again would have raised the chances for keeping one out. It's also college football and different and playing the same team twice is fucking stupid.
Agree, having the schedules still set up as divisions is dumb. But with 12 teams and 9 league games each school only misses 2 teams. With the larger conferences there will be even greater year-to-year disparities even without division schedules, e.g., see UW-BOODGER next year.

As @YellowSnow aptly stated, if UW is the best team it shouldn't matter. Just win the game and quit whining (not you specifically, but those who are obviously unhappy about having to face Oregon again, possibly)

UW's in with 1 loss and a conference championship. Only way a 1 loss UW is left out is if that 1 loss is to 1 loss Oregon in the conference championship game.
